A secretive clan living in a dark forest, Shadeclan cats enjoy
the darkness and are good at lurking, unnoticed. Despite their
unsocial appearance, these cats are a close-knit group that care
for each other and are fiercely loyal. Being Starclan believers,
they are good-natured and fair.
Territory.
Shadeclan resides in a dense, gloomy pine forest. The tall trees
cast long shadows all over the forest, making it seem haunted
and eerie. Most young cats would think twice about trespassing
here thanks to the darkness and the screeching wails of owls in
the night. Despite this, Shadeclan cats feel right at home here,
with a stream running through the middle of the territory, an
abundance of prey and plenty of clearings to train in, the
warriors couldn't ask for a better territory.
The camp is a large clearing protected by a thick bramble
barrier filled with secret escape routes. Near the entrance is a
large hollow tree, and amongst the roots is the leader's den.
When the leader wants to make an announcement all they have to
do is hop onto a low hanging branch and gather the clan. The
tree is called the Shade Tree. On the other side of the entrance
is a large bush that houses the warriors den, so when there are
trespassers the warriors can get straight to the battle. Next to
the warrior den is a large, mossy hollow log that serves as the
elder den. It's the driest place in the camp and well protected.
Leaning against the log is a large clump of ferns that the
apprentices use as their den. Near the very back is an old
abandoned badger set that the healer and their apprentice sleep
in. There's also room for a few patients and herbs in there. A
crevice in a large boulder is used as the nursery. Covered by a
wall of brambles, it is the safest den

• Leader: The leader of the clan. They hold ceremonies and make
all of the final decisions when it comes to alliances, battle
strategy, and other such things.
• Deputy: The second in command. They help out the leader, make
sure no one is slacking, and will take over when the current
leader dies or retires.
• Healer: Equivalent to the other clans' medicine cat. They see
to the sick and injured cats and have an unusually strong
connection with the clan's ancestors.
• Healer Trainee: Trains under the healer as they will one day
take over.
• Maids: She-cats who have had at least two litters of kits.
They help out in the nursery and it is their job to protect it.
Also carry out regular warrior duties and are required to learn
basic herbs, as well as herbs used during kitting.
• Warriors: The bulk of the clan. They hunt to feed it and fight
to protect it.
• Trainees: Cats training to become warriors.
• Queens: She-cats expecting or nursing kits. They are excused
from their duties until their kits become trainees.
• Kits: Kittens under six moons of age.
• Elders: Former warriors and queens, now retired. Cats can also
become elders due to disabilities.
