it took me by surprise, the hatred in his eyes (open, new stray)

The beagle puppy looked up at her owner, surprised by
the hatred burning in his eyes as he picked her up. Kaliah was
thrown into the passenger seat of his car as he drove to the
dump. While he passed it, the beagle puppy was picked up roughly
and tossed out the window carelessly. Kaliah whimpered as her
side and the sidewalk collided, shattering a few of her bones.
Crimson liquid poured out of her body. The man looked out his
window at Kaliah and shouted. "YOU'VE DONE ENOUGH, DOG!" The
beagle puppy whimpered once again, looking at the bite mark she
had made when he had abused her. You've done enough, too... She
thought. Kaliah slowly stood up, watching him speed away to the
place she once had lived. Not lived, more abused.

Head held high, the canine strutted through the
twolegplace, passing the junkyard where he had made his home; a
king patrolling his land. The puppy had been out for a stroll
and maybe to search for food, although he never found any. Oh
well. Food was somewhat hard to come by, although there was a
sufficient supply where he lived. Incognito's pointed ears
perked up when an angry human's voice rang out. Deciding to
check it out, the bold young husky trotted over, eyes widening
at the sight of a collapsed puppy on the ground in a small pool
of her own blood. "Hey! Pup!" he called, nosing her brown and
white fur.

Hey! Pup! Kaliah looked up at the husky, eyes glazed.
"What do you want? Who are you?" The beagle puppy barked weakly,
trying to stand up.

"Stay down!" the black and white dog barked, gently
placing a paw on Kaliah's side. "The name's Incognito. Looks
like you've been hurt pretty bad." Bending down, he began to
lick her wounds to clean up the blood that was staining her fur
crimson.

Farah padded up, a fair silver tabby with chiseled features and
a soft silver gaze. "Incognito, did you see what happened? The
poor thing needs treatment. Should we take him to my home, or to
yours? My supply of medicine isn't at my house, but it's closer
to it." She reported, her long limbs taking her closer to the
puppy.

The beagle/australian shepherd mix winced, laying back down.
"Ka-kaliah." She barked quietly in response to Incognito.

Turning to the cat whom was his acquaintance, Incognito
tilted his head. "This pup -" He paused when Kaliah spoke.
"Kaliah, is a female. We can go to your house or den or
whatever, 'cause my den is in the junkyard." the lean husky
replied. "Or, I could take her to my den while you run and grab
some of your healing stuff."

Farah nodded. "I'll meet you at your den, once I get some
medicine from my place. I should be able to fix her scratches,
but that paw and leg of her's doesn't look too good, I don't
know if she'll have full use of it once it heals." She muttered
thoughtfully, sniffing the scratches softly. "Alright, whatever.
Whenever you are able to move her, get her to your den, and I'll
be there in a few moments." The silver tabby relayed, racing off
through the dump, taking a quick right to scale a large mountain
of old cars and trash.

Knowing that Kaliah couldn't walk, the black and white
dog attempted to slide underneath the beagle in order to carry
her on his back.
