Welcome to my second guide: Bandos! Worth noting before we
start: Bandos is a tougher nut to crack than armadyl.
as he can use mulitple combat styles and can inflict quite some
damage. I will put down multiple tactics or method for killing
it. Even including a safespotting method for graardor, but only
if you'd be ranging or maging.
Summary:
1. Why would(n't) I want to go to Bandos.
2. Requirements, Gear and Inventory setups.
3. Tactics.
Why would(n't) I want to go Bandos?
As of almost all bosses, players go there to make money. Bandos
has always been a great source of money, both on Runescape and
private servers since there is always demand for Bandos armour
because it's just so strong! Since primal armour is practically
free to get, it won't be used as much as regular but for PvM'ers
it's still a fun experience.
Graardor isn't as easy as Kree'arra to kill, but for mid-level
to high-level PvM'ers it's a good way to get your melee stats
up. Ranging and maging are also do-able but requires some extra
effort.
For the prices of Bandos armour are stated in the Price Guide
HTML http://, but of course prices can always be set by the buyer ;).
Requirements, Gear and Inventory setups.
The requirements to go bandos are a bit tougher then Armadyl,
since the biggest concern is both phases.
This guide is meant for Med-to high-level players, you can
always try it without these requirements but it'll be more
troubling.
Requirements
The minimal requirements that I advise for Melee-ing are:
- 70 in all three melee stats (Attack,Strength and Defence
- A decent Constitution level, but you will probably gotten that
by training already!
- 70 prayer, to make use of Piety, 95 is LARGELY recommended for
longer trips but not mandatory.
For the safespot method a.k.a Ranging or Maging (sadly halberd's
don't work on here :{ )are the following:
- 70 Defence, to make use of Ahrim's of Karil's armour,
depending on your combat style.
- 80 Magic, to do necessary damage and make use of the Polypore
Staff, so there is no need to bring runes!
- 80 Range, the minimal required could be about anything, but
to hit good enough to kill the minions, you'll need a good
level!
- At least 43 Prayer, get it higher if possible for Augury or
Rigour!
Gear and Inventory
Before going on, keep in mind that most of the gear I'll advise
WILL require a bit more money to buy. You can start by getting
some profit by crafting (for a guide go to Shane's 1-99 crafting
guide), or do one of the methods you enjoy most!
You'll also need to get some supplies such as food and potions.
The armour and food we'll be using can be bought north of the
home teleport, potions can be bought east of the home teleport.
Minimal Setup
HTML http://puu.sh/4lu0r.jpg
As you can see, this gear includes dharok platebody and legs,
which will be your main defence. as I've said this is minimal,
if you have a better weapon such as a whip or Barrows weapon,
just use that! Overloads and renewals are always recommended,
because they take less inventory space than normal potions and
prayer potions.
Recommended Setup
HTML http://puu.sh/4luDe.jpg
This is the setup I recommend you to go with. Using full
dharoks/barrows as a set should give enough defence to avoid
most of the range hits graardor will hit on you. The abyssal
whip can always be replaced by a primal weapon or chaotic
whenever you receive one! Switch it up a bit if you'd like, of
course this is just my recommendation.
Ranging setup

You might notice: "Hey, THIS IS THE SAME SETUP AS IN THE ARMADYL
GUIDE". It's true, because when using the safespot method you'll
only have to kill some minions to be safely killing Bandos. The
mage setup is the same principle, but instead of black d'hide
you can use Mystic or something better :).
Personal Setup
HTML http://puu.sh/4lv2J.jpg
This is just my personal set, as you can see I'm not a user of
primal gear. But this is good enough to last for a bit.
Tactics.
Melee:
Well, it's simple really... Drink your potions, Protect from
Melee and attack Graardor! You can also attack Steelwill ( the
maging minion) first to save some damage later on. That's all
there is too meleeing, just be sure to keep your HP up around
500 at all times.
Mage:
When you teleport to the Bandos room, you normally have some
time to run, if not Graardor won't be able to hit you with
protect from melee. If you teleport in you walk south of a
minion. This minion is aggressive and will stay on the spot,
this will prevent Graardor from attacking you. Before you attack
graardor, target and attack the other two minions (The
safespot-minion you can pray against). When they're dead, attack
Graardoor and off you go!
Closure
Thanks for reading my second guide, I hope you enjoyed and will
try it out in the near future. Have any questions? Post them
down below or PM me ingame :)!
