Roof Restoration for Wat Mae Selak @ Chiang Mai (Makha Bucha
Day)
The funds raised will be submitted to the Temple for Roof
Restoration on Makha Bucha Day, Mar 6, 2023, which is in a week
time. Subsequent fund-raising and submission date of funds will
be announced soon.
Makha Bucha, also known as "National Gratitude Day”, practices
Lord Buddha’s love to people where Buddhists are encouraged to
remember the Lord Buddha’s compassionate and wise teachings, and
to show gratitude by doing good deeds and avoiding immoral acts.
How is Makha Bucha Celebrated?
Generally, on Makha Bucha day, Buddhists will visit the temple
to make offerings as the day marks a day of gratitude through
good deeds to purify the way of life.
For those who wish to submit your prayer requests so that the
dedication of merits by Senior Monks can be arranged for you,
you are strongly encouraged to do so early, so that the info can
be consolidated and passed to the temple.
Please avoid last-minute submission, which will be difficult to
accommodate as I'm often on the road.
Roof Restoration for Wat Mae Selak @ Chiang Mai:
Wat Mae Selak, located in Chiang Mai, is in the process of
rebuilding the roof. More than 2,000 pieces of tiles are needed
to complete the roof restoration.
This is a very rare opportunity for people to donate the tiles
for temple roof restoration.
It is a wonderful opportunity for people to help to protect the
Buddha Statues, important holy artefacts, offering devotees and
monks within the temple to have a proper and safe place for
religious practices and worship 🙏 🙏 🙏
The tiles will have your name and date of birth written on it
and will be placed at the roof as a remembrance of your kind and
compassionate, bringing about positive merits to you.
A lay person who offers the tiles sincerely will accumulate
immeasurable merits upon themselves and their families and loved
ones, bringing immense benefits to them according to ancient
Buddhist teachings:
Your merits will be enhanced 100s fold:
The benefits of donating tiles to shelter the temple:
* Health will improve and be freed from all diseases or
unnatural deaths.
* It gives good honour and good achievement in your business or
work.
* It benefits the family to be in a higher status.
* It enhances the person merits for this life and next life.
* It provides the person with an abundance of fortune.
* It removes all bad obstacles, and you will always be
protected.
* It shelters you from all bad things or bad energy.
* Your next life will be born in a good high-status family and
good life.
Offer with sincerity and a heart of gratitude for the Lord
Buddha’s teachings - and remember to provide us with your date
of birth and names, and any prayer requests for yourself and
your loved ones, sharing merits with your family, guardian
devas, ancestors, departed relatives, karmic debtors and any
beings who is able to receive the merits from such meritorious
act of donating tiles to restore the roof of the temple.
