vet

Last night around 6pm I thought my dog was having a seizure, but
it wasn't. She kept falling and was walking in circles when she
did manage to get up. This went on all night. This morning we
took her to the vet and because she is 13 they squeezed her in.
She was a little better but was still dizzy and not in a happy
mood. They had to muzzle her so they could listen to her heart.
They told us that her heart murmur had advanced a lot and was
not good. She listened for a long time and said her heart stops
for a while then restarts and is normal. So we had to leave her
there while they did blood work and watched her walking. She has
whats called old dog vestibular disease. Which is associated
with the inner ear. Sounds a lot like meniers (sp) in humans.
Said she will be better in 72 hours or up to 2 weeks. Her heart
well she is 13 and we will just have to love her while shes
here. They gave me anti-nauseous meds, but I cant get her to
take them as it has to be done on an empty stomach.

Oh dear, how terribly distressing for both you and your dog. I
hope she recovers quickly from this ear problem.
Lots of warm healing hugs on their way........

thanks Nette, she is much better but still dizzy. She is not
eating much tho, vet said because it makes her dizzy to put her
head down, so I have put her food and water on a stool.

So very glad to hear she is improving.
But these fur babies will go to extremes to make us, their
slaves (not servants, they get paid), to work harder and make
the furries lives easier!!!!

yeah my baby girl is almost at 100%. We went out to the trailer
to mount the couch and she climbed in the trailer which she
usually has a hard time of..

she was just being nosey lol She has never been a dog that
jumped on the furniture, except for our bed when we would leave
her in the house. She wanted to look out the window lol but
since she has been ill she doesn't do much bouncing around.
