Paralympic diving - how do they do it?

Hi, I was wondering whether anybody knows how the paralympics
athletes jump off the diving board. They have no legs, are they
being thrown? If so, are there requirements on the thrower?

Well, not sure about this. this seems to be a rather sensitive
       topic. :/

Why is it sensitive? It's a normal question asking about the
technicalities about one of the paralympic disciplines.

       Hi,
If I am not wrong, diving is not a paralympic sports, at least
       not for 2012.
Anyway, it is wrong to assume that paralympians have no legs.
Paralympians swimmers (closest to divers) are classified in
different categories for their events. These categories are
based on the types of disabilities they have. I am not too sure
about the classification (you can google if you are interested)
but I am sure some of them only have slight disability and can
jump off from the starting block. The rest who are unable to
jump off can start from diving off in a sitting position or
start in the water. Of course those starting in the water will
be assisted before the start of the event.
