This is supposed to be a "full size, in line" pic. Board sucks.

"Because you're in the 49ers local sports market, all these
streaming services will push you the game. Once you leave the
area, however, they stream local content based on your current
location."
Rep told me if it's being broadcast on a major network, you can
access it. But that would mean the customer has the ability to
choose among hundreds of different feeds. Okay, show me that!
Sadly, I think you're right. The rep didn't fully comprehend the
question. Could be a solution for me but not for you.

Got the win by the skin of our teeth and I blame the coaching
staff. All the so called experts I read said the lions would
play containment defense giving up the short passes. So what
did we do? Kept Jimmy in the pocket waiting for receivers down
field to get open. No screens, no quick short crossing routes.
Don't know what the coaches were thinking on offense.
Everyone on the planet saw what the lions did on offense except
our defensive coaches. They were not looking at the right side
of the field as GW indicated in his post. Why didn't we give
some safety help to Witherspoon? The lions sure had his number
today.
Our linebackers had a piss poor day also and of course as
expected we have no pass rush when needed. It appears that will
be a problem for us in every game we play. Moore was getting
good four and five yards gains when he got the ball but he
didn't get calls very often. Always happy to get a win but this
was a sloppy win and the team was lucky to get it. Now for the
chiefs.

Yeah, Chris was good. but the other commentator was an idiot.
He kept insisting that it was a late hit on Stafford when he ran
up the sideline. It was so clear that he was inbounds when he
was hit. What the heck was he seeing that the rest of us
wasn't? Must have been a Lions fan. At least Chris was
impartial, being a former lion.

I had a feeling that the lions would not just roll over,
especially after getting embarrassed on MNF. But the niners
defense was just awful. I saw a lot of missed tackles and open
receivers. I agree with James, the linebackers were awful too.
But the secondary got toasted. I mean, what kind of coverage
was that on 3rd on 17?? The game should have been over at that
point, but they give up a huge 65 yard pass play on 3rd and a
mile. I never was a big on Witherspoon. Never got the hype on
him. He made some plays as a niner, but he looks ordinary to
me. Same goes with Tartt and Ward. Without a pass rush, its
going to be a long season for the secondary.

Checking out some replays of he game and one thing stood out to
me, Most of the successful pass plays were "play action". Lions
defense had to respect the run so Jimmy was getting some
receivers open for short gains. Pretty much what the media
experts were saying prior to the game, the lions defense would
give up short yardage to prevent long gains. The old bend but
don't break defense. Actually putting up 30 points is not bad.
It was our defense that was giving us ulcers. I would have
liked to see more runs and play action on offense so Jimmy does
not have to hold onto the ball so long especially with our make
shift offensive line. Uncle Sherm has a rough week ahead
coaching up the secondary. Also the return of our speedy pot
loving linebacker might give the defense a lift.
Let's hope it was a learning experience for the team and they
get some defense for the chief's game. Also you have to give the
Lions credit for playing hard and not giving up. It's going to
be interesting to watch the game recording this week.

This is a pretty darn good recap of the game. They cover most of
the concerns and give a little hope for the chiefs game.

Now they're saying Witherspoon was hurting in practice Thu & Fri
and they knew they might have to take him out of the game if it
got worse. OK so he was hurting. But if they knew this in
advance, why wait so long to take him out? He almost cost us
this game before they finally benched him. Is he better than
Jimmie Ward, even injured?
During the offseason, they were telling us that Jimmie was good
enough to start at any one of several spots including outside at
corner. But when push came to shove, they let Witherspoon almost
lose the game before they finally sit him and bring in Ward. I
hate it when I have faith in a coach or GM and it starts to turn
out that they were shading the truth so badly.
We'd better have improved play from that position next week or
KC will tear us up.

Sadly, I think we learned the answer to that question this
weekend.

Ward practicing at safety, may have to fill in for Tartt. Even
if he could be an improvement over Witherspoon, and it seems
doubtful, there he goes back to safety.
These dbs are always getting hurt. I like that we've drafted
some prospects, like TMoore and ReedJr. Just wish they were
ready now, and they're not.
In retrospect, Jamal Adams at #3 instead of Solomon Thomas looks
pretty good. Hard to blame Lynch though; the Niners he took over
could not stop the run, at all.
