Night of The Way Too Dead (Part 1)
   DIR By: Michael_Lemont

       ---------------------------------------------------------
It all started yesterday when Dai and I were out on the common
trying to study for this test when a guy walked up to us.
"Hey" I said to him, but the guy just stood there with the
weirdest look on his face. Before long the guy got closer to me
and before I could say anything else, he tried to bite me.
"What the hell is your problem?!" Dai yelled.
One quick look and I saw all of these other people walking
around with the same look on all of their faces. "We have to get
       out of here."
"What are you talking about? He's probably just drunk off his
       ass" Dai said.
"We have to get the hell out of here now!" I said firmly, as the
people quickly began to surround the two of us. I grabbed him by
the arm and ran towards the campus center for shelter. By the
time we got there we found that there was already a large group
of survivors that had built some fortifications at the
building's entrances. We made our way up to the main entrance
and soon found three different people pointing their rifles at
       us.
"Who goes there?" One of the people screamed.
"My name is Aledog and this is my friend, Daikrai. We need
somewhere to take shelter for food and water."
Silence was their only response at first as we could see these
soldiers talking amoungst themselves. "Wait there til the
general arrives!" They yelled at us. It was clear that they
didn't trust us cause of the way they had their guns at the
ready, just not on their shoulders quite yet.
"This is crazy," Dai said to me as he tried to keep the
conversation between us, "we should just get away from here as
       soon as possible."
"No way man, these people are going to help us and besides..."
The great big doors of this fortress slowly opened as a dark
figure started walking out towards us.
"Hello gentlemen!" The general said in the most hospitable way
she could. "My name is general Icran." She was quick to put her
hand forward for a proper greeting as the smile appeared on her
face. Dai eventually got around to shaking her hand after me.
"Nice to meet you," I said, "Dai and I were just looking for a
place to call home at least til we can take care of ourselves in
       this hell on earth."
"Your welcome to stay as long as you like, just so long as your
willing to pull your own weight around here."
"Absolutely" I said with excitement. Dai kept his puzzled look
on his face as he stood in silence.
"Great, and while your here perhaps you both would be willing to
take a part in a little mission that we've been planning for a
while." Icran said with her eye brow raised.
"I don't think we'll be able to do anything serious like that,
we just want to get what we need and get out of your hair." Dai
       said.
"Come on, the least we can do is listen to what they have to
       say."
"No, the least we can do is just walk away from a situation that
seems way too fishy for my liking. Which is what I strongly
       suggest."
"It will just take a few minutes of your time" Icran said as she
tried to interject into the conversation.
"Did you hear that? It will just take a few minutes, and then if
we don't like it then we can leave"
Dai looked around nervously for a moment as a blood thirsty cry
was heard from the distance. "Fine, but just a few minutes."
"Great" Icran said in excitement. "If you'll follow me this way
and I'll take you to our good doctor." She gestured towards the
inside of the fortress as we walked through the great doors.
Walking through the hallways of the once familiar Hub became
painful as sights of pain and suffering filled the environment.
Questions of how all this happened started to fill my mind. "How
long have these people been here?"
"Months ago when the first contamination was discovered and
spread like wild fire, a small group of survivors from the
different corners of the campus held up here in the Hub and was
quick to build fortifications. It wasn't long before people all
over began to hear the stories about the impenetrable Fort
Sumner, and began making their way here in the hopes of staying
       safe from the chaos."
We followed Icran into the center of the Hub and found all of
the different families that were calling small corners of the
room their home. She lead us up the stairs to the second floor
where we found the people being served what food they were able
to come across for the week. "Right down this hallway is where
we can normally find the doctor." Icran pointed down one of the
       nearby hallways.
"Right, I was meaning to ask you about this doctor." Dai said.
"He showed up at our doors a few weeks ago and right away
started talking about a possible cure for the disease that's
causing all of those people's..." she tried to search for the
       best term, "poor mood."
"He can find a cure?" Dai said sounding very surprised.
"No way to know for sure, all I can say is that we gave him his
own space here in the western wing where he can conduct his
little experiments." The door that we arrived at had the
original "Gamer's Club" stretched out and had "Keep Out:
Experiments in Progress" written under it in odd handwriting.
Icran knocked her hand on the door before doing anything else.
"Come in!" A voice said from behind the door.
Icran opened the door and motioned for us to enter. Immediately
I noticed the man standing in front of multiple stacks of
papers, with what seemed like dozens of different experiments
going on around him. "Doctor, I think these guys will be able to
give us just what we need for the mission." The man's eyes
slowly rose to meet with ours. The glasses he wore made his eyes
look three times larger than I'm sure they were.
"Perfect timing." He said before taking off his glasses and
walking around the table in order to greet us. "My name is Dr.
Azurb, and I'm sure that you must be curious as to what our
       mission is."

I like how the general is Icrangirl, that role fits her quite
       well.
