1 mile is a doable walk back. 5 miles would take you out of game
for a bit

That is kind of the point of the spell. To put yourself out of
play so no one can get to you. And no one is saying you have to
go the full 5 miles.

It should be a set distance for sure. It should be to versitile
and adjustable.

Big difference in spell if it 'teleports' you back to a Specific
tree from a tree of the same species vs teleport between to
trees of the same species.
