Statistics: These are not my favorite thing but are one of the
best ways to objectively look at what is good and what is not
good. How fast each class gets experience and how many people
are playing them are good indicators. This is mostly a note for
the Plot/People running the game to encourage this information
be collected and made available at the Errata Meeting (or
before).

The problem is that it isn't always based on class. In a
tabletop where everyone gets the same xp, sure, but this LARP
has people getting different amounts of XP, which may partially
be based on class, but can also just as easily be based on other
factors, such as player skill.

It can also be based on out of character work for the larp.

XP, popularity, and leveling are too flexible in this game for
statistics like that to give any sort of indication of 'how good
it is'. Any class can suck or rock depending on play style,
combat ability, and personal preferences. Plots generally know
'what's good to play' based on just player discussion.

It might not be a bad idea to see how the class distribution is
on active players, though. I'd be interested in seeing how many
people are in each class. It would be good information to have
in case players are concerned about keeping a decent balance (I
know there are always a crap ton of mages, so I never play a
mage because we need sword and board fighters).

I agree with Zach, and though many of you discount the use of
gathering the information, it can be telling and part of
interpreting data is identifying outliers. I put a great deal of
faith in 'if few people are playing a certain type of character'
there is probably a reason for it just as their is a 'reason'
for players staying away from certain classes.
I like to play altruistic characters, but in this game that
means a greatly reduced potential for xp so even changing
characters I will be in the same boat I am now. I will have no
statistics to back, or refute this claim if they are not
gathered and it is not 'the battle' for which I will draw a line
in the sand.
It may be that today's Social Media environment with most
'statistics' being presented with so much spin makes them more
of a hindrance then a help and so people are starting to be
afraid of them. Anyway, back to the game...
