       With the presence of new faces and the absence of others, groups
       were shaken up a bit as the day was underway in Tarox.
       Nevertheless, after getting acquainted with one another and some
       quick jury-rigging, several groups of adventurers set out about
       the area looking to perform heroic exploits.
       The forest was picked over primarily by the various elves and
       faeries who ran into various perils including an enraged
       hippogriff, a small group of orcs well outside of their usual
       home, and a small angry tree surrounded by deadly plants. Also
       found in the area was a water-dwelling troll that had destroyed
       a merchant raft and had eaten the merchant and much of his
       merchandise. This beast was handled by a group of mercenaries
       who returned the remaining goods to their rightful owner. Many
       of these sell-swords also ran into strangely mutated men who had
       blades jutting out of their arms.
       A motley crew of adventurers managed to track down a gigantic,
       insidious plant which had been responsible for the deaths of
       four peasants over the last month. The plant shrugged off an
       impressive amount of damage before finally being overwhelmed.
       This same group also handled a sickly but strong group of
       goblins who dropped a variety of noxious fluids upon their
       deaths as well as a rogue Brotherhood of Lazarus initiate who
       had lost touch with his humanity and sadly had to be put down. A
       gigantic spider last encountered by Clan Axefell had teamed up
       with an Ettercap to capture travelers in a less traveled part of
       the merchant road. A couple of mercenaries encountered the duo
       but were overwhelmed but later another group managed to take
       down the beastly spider while the Ettercap escaped.
       A notable event in the city was the impressive display in the
       arena with two hill giants being defeated by one of the
       Sunshield brothers and another by his eccentric, masked ally. A
       large group of people managed to resolve a suspicious death in
       one of the city’s taverns with the suspect now being held in the
       city prison. Another suspicious death led to two denizens of the
       city being held under city watch as a result of a government
       investigation. At the resolution of the trial nobody has been
       convicted of the crime.
