       October 2017 Game History

       Town Crier:
       “Ahh, tis good to be back. Did you all miss me? I’d swear I
       heard some cries of joy when I was walking through the front
       gates. Please, don’t get too emotional now.
       Speaking of me return, the orc that saved me is still in the
       tavern. He likely wouldn’t mind being awarded a few drinks for
       my rescue, and I suppose his serenades too.
       A heavily armored man came into town, says he’s from some group
       called the Iron Pillar and came to train a couple of our beefier
       warriors. Fancy that, Eero cares about our little ol’ Ilyingrad.
       A skeleton popped into town as well, literally. Out of a
       portal. The Keeper of the Flame Squire Yuri came out right
       behind him. He did what was best for the town and shoved that
       creature right back into its portal, which thankfully closed
       behind it.
       One of the mages that’s new to the area, Dimitry, came back
       into town from the shoreline covered in vomit. What, it was from
       them short lizard people? Ooh that’s even more disgusting.
       Anyone know what is with all the pumpkins? Not regular ones,
       pumpkins that talk and like to tell puns. (Honestly wish I’d met
       them, they sound like a hoot.) Or that giant one that was trying
       to eat a kid? (That one not so much.)
       The farmers have started complaining about a pile of flesh that
       somebody left in the farmlands that’s starting to rot. Some of
       them babble about having seen it previously in the shape of a
       manor that was turned to stone. Our former Guard Captain Sergio
       came back around the time that supposedly happened, he won’t
       talk about it though. Merely shudders at the mention of it.
       There’s also a few farmers who claim to have seen a group of
       monsters step out of a portal near their farms. Our resident
       bear-squire Growl (that’s a thing now, news to me) went tearing
       after them and chased them all right back into their portal.
       Then the elf chick that was with him, Enyal-somethin, conjured
       up a stone wall in front of it. Sure hope they can’t break
       through it…
       Some old tower up in the northern forest completely fell apart.
       Supposedly the necromancer that had holed himself up there is
       now on the loose, so keep good track of yer dead.
       Pokrov has come under new leadership and is now known as
       Larrenpaine. All of the vampires are said to have been killed. A
       new trade agreement between the two baronies has been
       established.
       Alright, I’ve saved the best for last. You all know the local
       looney Larry, right? Well he killed one of the guys he hangs
       around right in the middle of town, after the guy killed a
       bat-man thing that had swooped into the holding. I hear Larry’s
       now marked as a murderer. Wow, what a surprise.”
       **Feel free to leave a comment recounting some of your
       adventures in October. The town crier has a bit of a drinking
       problem and sometimes forgets things.
