Making Weapon Diversity Interesting Again

At the moment, there is almost no reason that anyone should use
a sword or ax over a club for melee use since we removed the
stamina table. Clubs are incredibly cheap while swords can get
expensive quickly. To give these things some diversity again, I
had thought it would be interesting to make three different
categories of weapon: Headed, Bladed, and Piercing. How this
would work is that headed weapons, weapons that do their damage
through their weight, would do an extra point of damage but have
their maximum sizes reduced. Bladed would stay functionally the
same. No extra damage and no size reduction. Piercing, such as
spears, would be limited to thrusting attacks but have a longer
maximum length (right now spears can already be longer than
normal weapons of their size category, but they are not limited
to thrusting).
This does get tricky when we deal with weapons like halberds:
pole weapons with an ax head on one side and a piercing spike on
the other, as well as a spike on top. I'm not sure how those
would work, unless we required extra CP costs to justify the
bonuses (+1 damage with increased reach).
Thoughts?

I think it's more hassle then it helps. It would be something
people would have to be on the look out for, especially making
sure spear users were only thrusting.
On another note, you should have titled it "Making Weapon
Diversity Great Again.."

I'll admit, this system adds a whole lot of mechanics to the
game that aren't necessarily needed. This system would help
balance things out a bit I think and make things, at least a
little bit, more realistic. I mostly want to see if people are
interested in using it and then trying to work out the fiddly
details.

I like this idea.
