Innate Special Attacks/Defenses (Potential Stamina Table Replace
ment)

I had an another idea for a stamina table replacement based on
some of what I heard people brainstorming during errata. Heath
and Aaron helped me to flesh this out.
The concept is each weapon type is granted a free use of a
specific special attack or defense once per day. This is limited
to only those attacks/defenses with Skill +1 as their
prereqresite. The character would need to have at least Skill
+1/Backstab +2/Strength +1 before having access to this ability.
Here's what we've come up with so far for the types and what
attacks/defenses they get:
Small Bladed- Feint
Small Blunt- Waylay
Short Bladed- Pierce
Short Blunt- Deaden
Long Bladed- Critical Strike
Long Blunt- Deflect
Two-Handed Bladed- Disarm
Two-Handed Blunt- Trip
Great Bladed- Break Weapon
Great Blunt- Break Weapon
Bow- Critical Strike
Crossbow- Pierce
Brawl- Capture Weapon
Sling- Deaden
Atl-atl- Critical Strike
I know Waylay is a stealth skill rather than a special attack,
but we thought it'd be more fitting than any of the special
attacks we had to work with. However since it is one of the big
tricks for rogues, we could limit its use exclusively to those
with Backstabs.
Also, if you guys like this idea Heath thought it might be good
to combine it with Zach's suggestion for headed weapons doing
more damage.

So would you need the skill plus to be able to use this? And if
not then I might have to say no, only because this effect could
be achieved with High Magic Enchanting.

I think the way it's laid out right now it hadn't been decided
whether or not you would need Skill +1/Backstab +2/Strength +1
to use these innate effects. I would agree that you should need
to have some skill in the weapon beyond basic proficiency in
order to take advantage of its unique qualities.

Heath is right, I left it open to being ran either way. Hmm, I
didn't think about High Magic Enchanting. I'll go ahead and edit
the proposal to specify the prerequisite of Skill +1/Backstab
+2/Strength +1 for ease and overall better mechanics balance.
Also, I've made the poll for the stamina table replacements. I
know this and the other replacement ideas probably haven't been
discussed enough, but we don't want to risk prolonging the
release of the new version of the book too much.

Something that wasn't really mentioned; I'd say that Piercing
weapons should get the Blade effects in this system. The Blade
effects are pretty much what I'd envision for Piercing weapons
except for maybe Disarm.
