It was an eventful day in Tarox. With the Hell Gate open there
were many dangerous foes to be slain. The knight Sir Gilliam
Longlance had been missing for a few days. It was said that he
had gone to inspect the Hell Gate but he never returned. His
squire, the Boulder, along with Sir Hageshi Tetsuyo and his
squire, the Bishop Autolycus, and the paladin Magnetus were able
to find the cave that Sir Longlance had been brought to, his
body being guarded by a powerful demon. Magnetus seized his
opportunity and cast a powerful life spell that slew the beast.
The party was then able to free Sir Longlance, who was covered
in a black ichor and was missing an arm, and brought him back to
town where he was healed. He now has a ring of text around his
neck but citizens are informed not to worry about this.
Early in the morning, Benhart of Jugo was officially sworn in as
an Arch Mage of the Order of Enlightenment.
Hageshi and his companions had an eventful day. Early in the
morning they helped the royal emissary Roy Williamson recover
his lost goods. A band of demons attacked his cart on his way
to Tarox and only he was able to escape. Roy asked the knight
to track down his cart and bring him his chest of scholarly
material. The adventurers found the cart in the forest being
guarded by three demons and after a pitched fight succeeded in
killing the three and returning Roy’s items.
After Sir Longlance’s recovery, he went adventuring with Hageshi
many times throughout the day. In the farmlands, Hageshi,
Gilliam, and the Boulder came across a building that apparently
was owned by a “Bill the Necromancer”. While they were
inspecting the structure, three flesh golems burst out of the
wall and started shambling towards the party. After teasing
their enemies for a lengthy period of time, the three
adventurers dispatched the monsters.
This party also found three strange carnivorous horses by the
river. They were able to shoo them away and they swam into the
river and away.
Benhart of Jugo came back and he, with the help of Magnetus and
two other adventurers, slew three demons by the Hell Gate. They
also reported that after they had slain these demons, another
gate appeared in the same location.
Sometime after lunch, a party of tall imps ran through the town
attacking random people. Unfortunately for them they picked a
fight with some strong citizens of Tarox, namely Sir Longlance,
Sir Hageshi, Squire the Boulder, and Magnetus. Hageshi’s squire
VanHelsing was noted to deal damage to the fiends, as well.
The adventurer Baav has been making a name for himself in the
barony. He tracked down the ruffians that were charging a toll
to travel a road in the peasant district. After fighting them
and tracking them down Baav agreed to help find the hoodlums
jobs. While patrolling the peasant district, his party also
found a demon that was terrorizing residents. In the end they
were able to defeat the beast before the guards had even
arrived.
Autolycus, Magnetus, and some other adventurers helped the witch
doctor Hchussban find his “Hweif” that had been kidnapped and
held for ransom. Magnetus delivered one of the thugs to the
guards to be fined and jailed. Autolycus also organized a party
to patrol the farmlands. They found a family of farmers in
distress as imps had invaded their house and started to break
things. Autolycus’s group tried to defeat the monsters but were
unable to deal any damage. Hageshi and Magnetus would later
travel there to drive off the imps.
Later in the day, the Hoplites and Hageshi’s crew continued
patrolling throughout Tarox. They found some gorgons in the
forest that turned many party members to stone before being
slain. They also came across three demons, very similar to the
ones by the Hell Gate and that had attacked Roy Williamson’s
cart. These demons posed little threat to the party. At the
end of the day, the Hoplites, Baav, and another adventurer
stopped some blueish dwarf-like creatures from kidnapping
farmers. It would appear that this had been going on for quite
some time and the peasantry is thankful that it has been put to
an end.
