Regarding Head Plots

Okay, players, we have some very important news to share
regarding Head Plot terms in Aldeon LARP.
In the 2015 errata, a vote was passed saying that Head Plots
should be limited to some sort of term. No details were decided,
so Heath and I, your current Head Plots, worked together to
decide on a Head Plot system that will not threaten the
foundations of Aldeon LARP by switching too often or things like
that.
As you know, Head Plots alternate between active plot and player
to assist in easing the stress related with running a game like
this. Currently, Head Plots are active for 8 months and then
have a 4 month break to be a player before coming active again.
The first two months of the active shift will overlap with the
last two months of the other Head's active shift so that both
Heads are active for easy communication and a quick handoff.
From now on, Head Plots will continue the active/player
rotation, but are limited to 3 active "shifts". That is roughly
3 years of being Head Plot for Aldeon LARP. Head Plots may
choose to step down early, but they must finish at least two
active shifts. When a Head Plot's term is up, the remaining Head
Plot will nominate a new co-Head to be confirmed by a majority
player vote. The original Head will work with the new Head to
decide at which point they start the active/player rotation. It
is recommended that instead of a normal 2 month overlap, the
starting overlap for the new Head be 3 months at least to ease
them in to the process. However, that is up for the Heads to
decide for themselves. They will continue to go along the
active/player rotation until the final original Head steps down
and the newer Head chooses a replacement (again confirmed by
majority player vote).
At this point, when both original heads have stepped down, the
game will undergo a reset of sorts. With two new Heads, the game
will start fresh in a new setting with a new story and NPCs. We
have not yet decided on how CP will reset for characters, but it
is likely going to be similar to how we started Aldeon, where
you get more CP if you come to the first game, etc. We would
love player input on how to best go about this, as it can be
frustrating for players. We will come to an agreement at the
2016 errata.
Heath has decided to step down as Head Plot in March 2016, when
his second active plot run is officially over. However, he will
be leaving active plot in January of 2016 due to unfortunate
outside circumstances. I have nominated Zach Clark as his
replacement. A vote will be commenced for his acceptance after
the January game. I have also decided to follow suit and step
down after my second term ends in November 2016. Zach will be
choosing a replacement for me and the game will undergo it's
chosen reset, as decided on in July 2016.
Obviously, these official Head Plot Rules can be changed at an
errata, but we believe this is one of the best ways to go about
it. Storylines and settings get stale after a few years, and a
reset can be a great opportunity for new adventures. More
information will be coming soon, please look forward to it.
Please note that regardless of whether or not Zach is officially
nominated as head plot, he will be coming on as a sort of temp
head for the January game to assist with Heath's departure.
