The arena saw heavy use this month with a total of three
separate events. The first event was a small tournament wherein
Squire “The Boulder” took first place, a visiting guard from the
barony of Ironforge took second, and an Eeroan warrior that is a
known associate of the mage Hauschlachten took third.
The next event was a four-way duel to down (which led to a
couple deaths) between the heads of clans Belle, Fawn, Ladd, and
Scarry to settle a long-standing feud amongst them. Miguel
Belle spent much of the battle in a defensive Stone Form which
protected him from the other three combatants. Don Fawn paced
about the outside of the ring looking for openings while Barry
Scarry tried to take Vlad Ladd in straight combat. Don Fawn was
ultimately victorious. Both Vlad the Black Clad and Sinbad the
Rad of Clan Ladd are said to have taken their leave of the city.
The final set of events was a sort of qualifying exam for Sir
Hageshi Tetsuyo in his petition to join the Order of the Golden
Fleece. He and a varied group of allies faced an Ice Dragon,
Fire Giant, Rock Worm, and Kraken which they ultimately
defeated. Sir Hageshi Tetsuyo was ambushed at the end of the
fights by a large Werecat which seemed unfazed by attacks from
anyone but the knight. The determination of the Order of the
Golden Fleece is unknown at this time.
The young boy who was shouting warnings of an impending demon
war in the merchant ring was taken in by Constable Tira
Brightstar who consulted Deckard Abel of the Order of
Enlightenment about what the child was saying. To all reports,
the boy’s information seems to check out. Perhaps the wisdom he
is being provided by the Masters will prove useful in the event
       of another demonic incursion.
The fire in the forest was investigated by a group led by the
noble Maite. The group found a small group of demonic beings
that were clear cutting a large swath of forest. The group
attempted to stop the destruction of the forest but were
rebuffed by the evil beings. Sirs Andre de Montdesir, Gilliam
Longlance, and Hageshi Tetsuyo as well as Constable Tira
Brightstar and squire “The Boulder” returned to the site of the
bonfire and took the battle back up. This group was able to
slay the demons and prevent the further destruction of the
       baron’s woods.
The noble Eeroan mage Hauschlachten and his group were
responsible for a couple of notable deeds this month. The group
answered the summons put out by Lord Blackwell to aid the Grand
Fir in its war efforts. The group managed to coax a group of
spiders (of a variety of sizes) into speaking with Lord
Blackwell. The group is reported to have agreed to join with
the barony as an ally. Hauschlachten and his group also came to
the aid of a group of members of the Price family who were
struggling to fight a shadowy creature.
A group led by Constable Brightstar followed up on reports of a
large man harassing travelers in the farmlands. The man stopped
the group and inquired about their morality. Finding their
answers unsatisfactory, the man launched a savage attack. The
group ran the man off and followed him to a home in the
farmlands where they found the man as well as a woman suspended
in the middle of a wall of flesh with human bones scattered
along the floor. The group defeated the man and burned the down
the house to purge the abominations from the world.
Wizard Altes Youghan reports that Sirs de Montdesir, Longlance,
and Tetsuyo as well as Constable Brightstar, squire “The
Boulder”, and a paladin associate of theirs from the Order of
Salem aided him in his efforts to break the curse that the baron
is currently victim of. The reportedly brought in an Illithid
mage from the Underdark that Altes says is partially responsible
for placing the curse in the first place.
At the end of the day, a string of strange events befell Sir
Hageshi Tetsuyo. He says he was visited by a High Elf courier
who handed him a letter and a sword. The courier is reported to
have placed a magical compulsion on the knight who then
travelled to the Rusty Pony Inn and attacked the suspicious
black robed man. The man revealed himself to be Sir Patrick of
Westhall, Knight Commander of the barony of Westhall and had Sir
Tetsuyo arrested by Constable Brightstar. The matter is
currently under investigation by Sir Crane of the Order of the
       Grand.
(Technically two month old news, but it happened this game) Lord
Blackwell extends a gracious thanks to the Order of Salem, Sir
Gilliam Longlance, and squire “The Boulder” for performing a
daring and successful mission infiltrating the camp of Duke
Baxter and retrieving a powerful artifact from the usurper.
Since the completion of this heist, random animal attacks and
disappearances around the barony have tapered off.
