A group led by the Constable Tira Brightstar delved into the
sinkholes that had appeared overnight to swallow up various
taverns and houses of prostitution around the city. A network of
tunnels were discovered which led the group to a chamber
containing three creatures. The group reports that these
creatures were large and worm-like and appeared to have been
formed of dozens of infants who let out a horrendous cry when
awakened. These creatures managed to temporarily disable the
group and escape the area by burrowing away.
The Battlewise Hoplites, led by the now Sir Gilliam Longlance
and accompanied by the now Sir Andre de Montdesir, took it upon
themselves to attempt to locate and rescue the baron’s daughter
Jessa. The group found a way into the Underdark by returning to
a site where they had previously encountered subterranean
creatures where they slew a Destrachan and a number of Dark
Ones. In the tunnels, the group encountered a handful of wraiths
which they managed with skill. The group emerged in a small city
of Dark Ones led by a warlord called Gul Din. An offer was
extended to the Hoplites granting an hour to attempt to locate
and rescue the damsel if a champion of the Dark Ones could be
defeated. Sir Longlance accepted the challenge and, after a
protracted fight, slew the warrior. The group solved the puzzle
of the impenetrable spire which held Jess and ascended the inner
workings to find her dangling above a strange cauldron and held
captive by a strange mage. The mage was quickly slain and the
baron’s daughter saved, malnourished and dehydrated, but
unharmed.
The Grand Fir received aid from two groups in its war efforts
against “Duke Baxter”. The mercenary Order of Salem infiltrated
the camp of Duke Baxter at Lord Blackwell and “King Eugenio’s”
request. They returned with valuable information and plan to
gain further intelligence soon. The Battlewise Hoplites stumbled
across two groups of animals as they met in a skirmish. The
group sided with the Grand Fir forces, giving them the edge over
the other beasts.
A group calling themselves Torrential Rain, composed mostly of
members of the Brotherhood of Lazarus and members of its
suborder, the Hunters of the Silver Cross, and led by Sir
Hageshi Tetsuyo, investigated the sudden disappearance of the
residents of the town of Gramsby. The group reports that a large
group of strong werecreatures was responsible for the wholesale
slaughter of the town as a way to attract strong fighters for
something called “The Hunt”. The group engaged and was routed by
the evil band with only two of its members escaping with only a
single arm between them. The Baron Yates thanks the group for
their efforts and sacrifice and promises to reward them for the
information they gathered.
At the end of the day, before the twilight darkness turned to
full darkness in the barony, the light suddenly returned. It has
been reported that Sir Hageshi Tetsuyo sacrificed himself in
order to reverse the darkness that was plaguing the land. He was
aided in this endeavor by the Full Mage Benhart of Jugo. The
return of the light means that there is a chance that rebuilding
efforts can be doubled in strength and there is a chance crops
can be grown to help make up for those lost to the months of
darkness and the Crashing Doom.
House Schladen encountered a bulette while in the company of the
now knighted Sir Hageshi Tetsuyo. The group managed to slay the
hulking beast and have returned the gaaveh beans from its
stomach to the gaaveh peddler. This man promised that a new and
improved form of the drink will be developed shortly.
An Iosan warrior and the mage John Glenn stumbled across a small
group of undead feasting upon the dead in a mass grave of
Crashing Doom casualties. The duo managed to dispatch the ghouls
without any other aid.
A local animal extremist wreaked havoc on a corgi farm in the
farmlands. The mage cast a spell which enraged all of the small
dogs causing them to attack the farm’s visitors. These
adventurers were able to handle the situation and drive away the
misguided mage.
