Loremaster Skill

Cost 15 for all classes. Prerequisites: 3 common scholar [area]
skills; 2 uncommon scholar [area] skills. This skill allows a
character to purchase scholar skills at zero character point
cost. The character has essentially spent so much time studying
and absorbing knowledge, that it becomes second nature to them.
Character points spent on scholar skills count towards the cost
of Loremaster.

How do you define common and uncommon scholar skills? I think
it should probably be just like polyglot in the way it
functions.

So far, uncommon scholar skills are generally over a more
specific area of knowledge such as Scholar [Faerie Culture]
instead of Scholar [Magical Creatures]. I agree that the wonky
prereqs should probably be dispensed with. A cost increase to
18 may be warranted at that point but I'm unsure.

I would like to see it like polyglot.

What if you only have "uncommon" scholar area skills? Do you
need common ones to get the skills.

Technically, by this writeup, you couldn't get it if you had 5
"uncommon" scholar skills. I'm for passing it without the wonky
prereq personally.

The prerequisite was only originally conceived to ensure you
couldn't obtain it with only common skills that required no work
whatsoever to obtain.

In response to togapika: I don't see how that's any different
than a Polyglot picking up a bunch of basic languages and basic
read & writes. You don't need to know Orc, Infernal, or Ignise
to get Polyglot so why should a Lore Master skill require
varying levels of skill?

The idea is fine, but I agree that it should be based on any
scholar skill [area]. If you want to limit the accumilation of
uncommon or rare skills then do that through the game, dont
limit the player on what is classified as such skills. If it
hard to get then it could be done through means that would have
the player work for it rather than always having it in the
library, because I dont beleive the library has all of the
universe's knowledge. If it does there is already a problem.
