Carry weight by class

Carry Capacity by class
Warrior -80
Ranger -70
Rogue -60
Paladin -60
Monk -60
Theurge -50
Mage -40
A player can carry up to 2x their max unencumbered carry weight,
which will encumbered them and force them into a slow walk.
EX: As soon as a warrior is carrying over 80 lbs, they have to
move at a slow walk, and if they are carrying over 160 they can
not walk.
Each Strength plus will increase the unencumbered carry weight
limit by 25 pounds.
Each level of Porter will increase the unencumbered carry weight
limit by 5 pounds
Where a warrior (80) with strength plus 1 (25) and porter 3 (15)
would have a max unencumbered weight of 120 or max encumbered
weight of 240.
If we implement this I would like to suggest we change the
wording from points, to pounds when regarding the armor limit by
class. IE: A Warrior can wear up to 45 pounds of armor. This
will make armor smith much more desirable, as you would need to
buy wear extra armor to utilize some special armors.
What do you think? Rewording, major flaws, just plain dont like
it?

I just plain don't like it. It doesn't make sense to me that
different classes with the same strength can carry different
amounts. I see how it would be beneficial to warriors who have
to lug around heavy stuff but I don't think its actually fair.
I would be okay with changing the wording from points to pounds
except that natural armor doesn't weigh anything and therefor
you could have unlimited natural armor.

Well, In my mind that is where the fantasy aspect would play a
part. And its not only beneficial to warrior to lug around
armor, its a small buff for everyone other than mages, and
theurge's break even. As for being fair, I don't really see why
isn't when you take in the fact that we use a Cp system and the
costs for skills are different depending on what class you are.
But it is an obvious buff to classes and an obvious nerf to mage
carry weight by ten pounds.

If this were to pass I'd like to see a couple revisions. The
first would be the numbers themselves. I think 80 is a bit
ridiculous for warriors since it bumps them up 30 pounds. These
are the numbers I'd use.
Warrior: 60
Rogue: 50
Mage: 40
Paladin: 50
Monk: 45
Ranger: 55
Theurge: 45
Second, I like that porter scales if you get strength plus. So
I think we should keep it the same. I'll need to look at the
math on Strength plus.

As long as we have a ruling for natural armor, and perhaps make
porter a little better than 5 pounds per level, I'd be ok with
this.

I think 'Run Speed' should be by 'class' as well. It says
'Rogues' wear less armor so they can run faster/carry more gear,
but changing how armor and speed works is an interesting step,
but I think it should be taken another step. And I believe that
Endurance has more to do with running away successfully then
being built like Arnold Schwarzenegger. It would be easy to
build 'run speed' into the Armor a person wears, heavy armor,
even for a strong person is not fast, the same aspect of armor
that protects the person from harm, also limits the range of
motion.
