New Formula for Armor Smith
By: Lothar6669 Date: June 29, 2015, 11:40 am

Can anyone think of any alternative Armor smithing formulas?
There is one silver per production + Component cost = total. We
also have one copper per production + component cost X2= total.
But these make ore 3 armors unobtainable. Can we brain storm
some new formulas that we can try to Discuss at errata?

You're talking about the value formula, right? I think we're
currently looking at making it production [(copper) + component
value] x 1.5. Its still way too expensive, though. Lower the
value of ores will help, but even then its ridiculous.

Yeah, right now its just too steep when we put one ore = one
pound and toss a multiplier on it. We should try to figure this
out before errata.

I think I may have just had a decent idea about armor smithing.
What if first level components have one point of armor, second
level components gave two, and third level give three? I think
maybe with that and a slight retool of the eleven armor skill we
could have a decent solution.

The problem there is that armor should weigh less since there
are less components. Unless the plan is to make all level III
component armors automatically gain the same bonus as master
crafted elven.

That's why I included that we'd have to retool the Elven Armor
skills. It seems like it would be necessary for any idea that
I've personally had to work.

I think giving the bonus for elven armor with level II
components and the Master Crafted Elven Armor bonus for level
III components would probably be a good system.
