As citizens awoke in Tarox, the town crier began his daily
routine by announcing that the Baron’s daughter had returned
after a yearlong trip to Helea. She spent the day greeting
citizens and was escorted by the great scholar Altes Youghan.
Another announcement was that further tensions have risen
between the owner of the city brothel and the head of the
Concerned Women’s Guild. Rumors of evil sewer creatures and
missing women were investigated by a multitude of adventurers.
Just as the plague seemed to be worsening, a local mage by the
name of Atrox researched a spell that was successfully able to
determine the host of spells necessary for curing the plague
that has been ravaging the city for the last 3 months. He has
been rewarded for his efforts. The White Maidens are asking for
any assistance, as curing one person alone is quite draining on
a person’s mana pool. Nonetheless, slow progress is being made.
The A-Team and another mixed group have also assisted in
cleaning up the peasant district of those horrible corpses.
In several places this month, mysterious encrypted containers
were found. The two groups that found these containers were the
Order of Salem, and a couple of members of the Sunshields. Word
has not reached the general public of what these containers had
inside as of yet.
Inside the city, the ex-head of the Blood Oath and some other
adventurers were quite busy attempting to repair their damaged
reputation. They were involved in the search of the sewers, the
rescue of a beaten mongrelman, the capture of a lunar dust
addict, and several other helpful endeavors. In the arena this
month, we saw a wonderful one-on-one fight between a quiet
swordsman and a minotaur. The minotaur was donated by another
local swordsman as well. It appears that a group of adventurers,
including some of the Order of Salem, fell victim to some
thieves posing as masseuses. One man, Chuckles, died from the
encounter. We urge citizens to keep an eye out for a group of
women carrying lots of adventuring gear.
Outside of the city, groups were also quite busy. The Order of
Salem took on some crested felldrakes that were harassing
travelers, taking down a nasty witch, an owlbear, and taking out
a cart of possessed cabbages. A local group of fae were quite
busy as well. They assisted one of the greatest botanists in the
city obtain the very rare seed of a Whomping Willow that may now
be used to study what makes those rare trees behave in such a
way. They also were rewarded by local merchants for clearing the
roads of dangerous assassin vines and helping a young girl being
attacked by aranea. The A-Team assisted in busting a group that
were capturing nixies and pixies for use in some sort of show.
The nixies and pixies have been safely set free. They also took
out a huge viper snake, some giant bees, and a rather rude mule.
One of the most noteable occurrences appeared to be a near war
breaking out between two local farming families over the
placement of a stone wall. The situation steadily devolved as
more and more adventurers got involved, but was thankfully
resolved once the guards got involved. A statement from one of
the guards, Tira Brightstar, revealed that the situation was all
around confusing and somewhat hilarious, as it seems the two
families are now blaming a third family for their issues. Guards
will continue to keep an eye on the situation.
As night fell, the city was surprisingly quiet, and only a few
scuffles occurred. The Undertaker, head of gravekeeping in the
city, wishes to thank the A-Team for their assistance in
clearing out a bonedrinker that was digging up graves. It
appears they also assisted in the rescue of the missing brothel
workers as well. Other than a few other scuffles that were
handled by groups such as the Order of Salem, the night was
relatively peaceful.
