monks and paladins

Paladins: i feel the term paladin should be changed to
sellsword.
Monk: monks should be called clerics. And the natural armor they
buy should be renamed or a new natural armor skill called divine
armor. A monk makes sense for natural armor but not for faith,
they are self enlightened mostly. Clerics are good for faith but
natural armor would need to be renamed or a new type of natural
armor created that cost the same.

It just seems like semantics to me.

I think that this matter isn't important enough to worry about.
Errata takes long enough without arguing about what something
should be called.
I think the term paladin works well enough to describe that they
are warrior mages. Monks are the center of the road class and
for game purposes are a combination of monks, clerics, and d&d
style paladins.

Paladin to me suggests 'divine' based fight/mage so the Change
to Battle Mage actually makes sense to me.
The fact that 'Monks' are the only divine magic based class does
lend itself to using the term cleric, but I can see the
advantage of breaking away from DnD terms to avoid some of the
negative stereotyping. This same idea strengthens the changing
of the name Paladin to Battle Mage.
I do agree with Zach though on importance of keeping erratta
focused. In the future it may be best to focus Erratta each year
to things that are 'broken' and one aspect of the game that
Plot/Players feel needs stream lining/improving.

Actually an errata is for any player to express any greiveance.
This bothers me and id like it to at least be voted on or talked
about

I agree with you that this forum should hold any topic people
want to discuss.
It will make for a long day of voting (and effectively allow
filibustering) if everything ends up being put to vote at the
official meeting without editing by someone. Most games I have
worked with created 'rules committees' comprising of new
players, old players and a few Plot people to spare the general
populous a very stressful day.

Yes but is this something that really needs to be fixed? We have
a limited amount of time each errata for suggestions and I'm
sure players don't want this to drag on like Westmark erratas
where you go throw the whole book and it ends up taking 4-6
hours and next thing you know its 2 am. If there is time sure
bring it up but really it is not something that is a big issue.
As I previously stated it is a matter of semantics and as Bob
has stated I would agree I'd like to see more of the game rely
less on D&D for it's chosen source material on everything.
Having something that is divergent from other games isn't bad
and players know what the classes are and if they don't it is
defined for them in the Core book. I just don't see it as a
relevant issue in need of change at errata or any time in the
near future if at all.
