We could always do learn 3 skills or 2 spells, that way mages
progress is slowed but not entirely. I personally think the
restriction of 3 spells, isn't enough of a restriction on it. I
would wonder how many times someone learns 4 new spells in a
session.

Well it really depends. I have learned alot of spells in one
game, but instead of taking whatever reward the Npc was
offering, If they had a spell to teach me I took that instead.

It would depend on the average game. That proably what the rules
need to be based off of not outliers.

Well my guess is going to be the average is 3-5. It really just
depends on if the person needs the money, or if they can get
something else like spells as a reward.

Honestly, I think having instruction not reset would be a
pretty good limiting factoring while rewarding those that buy it
multiple times.

Naruto isn't a warrior, and besides, what does anime have to do
with anything?

Im with Samjuria, having instruction not reset would slow
progression by around 1/3 most likely which would seem like a
pretty solid Nerf, but simple to work with and no one will need
to rewrite skills or change their character. But it also still
makes it a relevant skill because you need it to teach spells
and skills so for trading its a must.

So if all mages have instruction all of them still teach using
instruction instead of anything else. Instruction is just
better than learning spells than any other meathod, the only
real way to change that is to not let it be possible. Its a
dominant stratagy people will do to the (almost) exclusion of
all else because mechaninacally it is stronger.

Are you suggesting that Instruction not be able to teach any
spells?

I think that was what rich423 was saying the whole time.
