Casevac Scenario Woodland 03 Feb 2013

Fancy something a bit different, how about a Casevac, a bit of
thought and team work are required coupled with some basic first
aid? How about this:
CASEVAC/MEDEVAC
1. Locate the cas (easy if he is concious and screaming!!)
Secure the area
2. Remove cas to a relatively safe area (hard cover if possible)
for some immediate first aid whilst the rest of the team fight
the battle.
3. Remove cas from the battle zone to an extraction point - not
as easy as it seems, it requires team work and regular swapping
of stretcher bearers especially if the cas is a salad dodger :)
The enemy is relentless and still on your tail!
4. Maintain security and fight a retreat to the extraction zone
as the enemy are relentless and want the casualty for their own
purposes.
5. Command and control is required
6. Call in a casevac using the radio and maintain full security
at all times.
7. Maintain basic treatment of casualty during the waiting time
- treatment for shock.
8. Home in time for Tea and Medals :)
