I have been tempted to buy one, but I'll buy one when I have
spare cash.
Looking at some vids on YouTube, the spring ones seem to be
efective.
The issue I see is you have to lug it about everywhere :-\

carry a small bag around that you can put it in
The main issue i see with mines and claymores is that... my own
team is more likely to step on the mine the the enemy is
Specialy if im using it for base defence
you would have to alert all of your team members that its there
which is a hassel in the middle of a skirmish

Setting trip mines isn't easy, you also have to manage them to
avoid team kills. Which will not make u popular, hence BFG's for
some element of control. Still doesn't account for members of
your own team being in the wrong place, at the wrong time!
Let's face it how many times has someone in Urban run across in
front of your line of fire!

I didn't really think about the team kill factor.
Of course, you allways get that one idiot that gets in the way.
Though you'd be pissed if a team mate set the mine off and an
enemy player appears there a few seconds later ::)

U can tell people who use 'em alot, there's the one's as soon as
you appear, there immediately shouting out warnings ;D :-\
