The Nibong Tibal runs to see Rose Chan in the Changkat
Landrover, well remembered ;)
Even spent leave down there, great Craic with the lads :)

Coming back from the airport yesterday, I drove along the
coastal highway past the old Glugor domestic site. Looks like
the old MCU buildings are being demolished. Will try and get
some photos.

I wish the residents luck in their campaign to stop the closure
of the base. It was my favourite posting and will make me sad if
it goes.

I have very fond memories of my visits to Changkat. The times
playing ping-pong. Eating in the mess with rats and rat snakes
zooming overhead along the roof beams. Friends included Pat
Evans, Bill Biddie, Cass Mc Curdy, Paul Bone, John Donaghue and
many more. I was at 114 MCRU from May 1966 then moved over to
Western Hill in July then reposted in October up to 117 S.U.
Hong Kong in October 1966.
