The WO on the left is of course 'Slim' Walmsley. Next to him is
Sgt 'Chick Wickham and then Sgt Roy Fraser. TB

cont. 'So its goobye from him'. time to go. A shame really as
this has been one of the most enjoyable times in my career. The
job at the School was really enjoyable, the house on the beach,
Barbaras dad sitting in the front porch for hours just watching
what goes on on the river, the kids all paying in the sand while
the wives sit and watch, holiday makers who have come down for
the day asking if we did teas and could they use the toilet. A
great time. But it is a new home down in West Molesley for us.
Will I ever get back to Bawdsey? I very much doubt it as my
career is once again on the move. So .. goodbye old friend. I
will remember you with great fondness. The car is loaded, a last
look around and we are gone. TB

I was on course 112 and I remember them coming in towards the
end of our course. Got there towards then end of of March 1972,
spent a bit of time on pool flight and got to Buchan towards the
end of June.

Got there around the same time as a brand new Corporal and
remember them being there.

To be honest, if they had been regular RAF not many would have
got through the course. They had a no fail policy. And to think
they went back to Malaya and were the fore runners of today
Malaysian Air Defence. TB

If I'm not mistaken they are course 115 from the summer of 1972.
I stayed in contact with Jamal (second from the left) for some
time after they went back to Malaysia
