Hello Steve, I hope you are well? To offer a counter balance I
guess that the museum needs to attract as many people as
possible to visit to survive. It isn't in a thriving hotspot of
population, it relys on tourists a lot of the time for trade.
However they can get people through the door, they will do it.
What I do like is they have maintained the ops room as we will
remember it, down to tote details showing the last day's ops in
that room. We have our memories, if you go again, you could
offer an insight to any tourists who happen to be there at the
same time as yourself; listening to someone who has worked in
that environment would be fascinating to many I am sure.
I am just as frustrated at Chris's experience, and can totally
understand his frustration and annoyance, but just to be in that
environment is to help it. I wish I lived closer, I would visit
       more often.

Hello Ian, thanks for your kind enquiry about my health - not
too bad, one mustn't grumble...I hope you are likewise healthy.
I felt very sorry for Martin, having had a similar experience to
him there, I understand the problem of making a commercial
success of the museum, but can't help feeling that in the
process something is, or rather has, been lost. The museum has
changed its direction very noticeably since 'The Boss' (Sqdn Ldr
Roy Bullers) was at the helm.
It was some time later I became aware of what I suppose one
would call 'commercialism/market forces'. The last time I
visited, as a member and an ex ASOP, it felt as if I did not
belong there anymore, the place and people running it had all
changed so much. I doubt I will return - instead I prefer to
remember the place as it was...
       Regards
       Steve.

       Latest web site info:))

For me a personal view, I shall not return.
I prefer to remember things as they where, but the friendships
       remain as they should do.
Suddenly finding my traveling locations are going to be severely
       limited and selective.

Anyone in South Devon, the prison museum at Dartmoor prison is
well worth a visit and it’s free.
