One more, though probably already known: I is another MC.202/
109 conflict.
I= MC.202 fight & desert 109 squadron. Would only come up after
the first day if an MC.202 sqn becomes partially available.

Ok
So I finished the first day of my campaign (report to follow
today or tomorrow). Very enjoyable thus far. However... I do not
think there are enough Spitfire flight counters to do the job.
According to the spreadsheet (and my counter mix) there are 4
flight IDs (MNOP) available, so each time in a day you have a
squadron cycle to partially available you will need a flight in
each box (available/recovery) thus 3 squadrons max can be
represented this way.
Currently You cannot combine flights until the overnight turn
which helps but it’s still likely that you may have at least one
pair of squadrons which have incompatible crew qualities during
meaning they will stay split. As the next day progresses it is
certain that several more squadrons may split in this way. I
don’t see that 4 flights will be enough.
If this is, indeed, a problem I would suggest allowing combining
flights during day turn recovery phases.

So two possible solutions (we take one or both) are:
(1) Permit recombination in the day recovery phases?
(2) Permit flights of different qualities to recombine, but they
will lose any veteran marker.

or 3. Print more flights? 😂
I dont know the history well enough but based on gameplay so far
I’d say both. I can definitely see having more than two
squadrons become partially available by mid-day on day one.

At this point printing more flights is not possible without
dropping scenarios.

Belated report:
Scenario: Malta Campaign: Day 1: 15:00 AND 17:00
Version: (07/14 booklet)
Playtesters: Scott Key, solitaire
July 24, 2019
15:00
Report: - No height errors; 4 clouds at 7 set up by allies,
widely dispersed; Good warning; Allied max= 9
- Allies: 1 Spitfire sqn, 1 Hurricane sqn set up as flights
- Axis: 3x Me-109 sqns (2x Veteran, experte) [sweep]; 1x Me-109
Jabo sqn [strafe]; 2x Ju-87 sqns (1x RA)
- Fighter sweep sets up high and ahead of bombers
- Allies set up interceptors below clouds
Turn 1-3: - The Spitfire sqn is tallied by a higher Sweep sqn
and bounced. After two rounds of combat both squadrons break.
- Hurricanes play tag with the other sweeps changing vectors
frequently to maintain distance from them and avoid a tally.
Turns 3-7: - The lowest sweep sqn attacks a Hurricane flight in
Lufbery. The fight lowers and lowers until it is down on the
deck. Then both units break and escape.
- The remaining Hurricane flight flies in low to it’s vector
attempting to intercept the Stukas. It tallies and intercepts
the trailing (RA) Stuka sqn disrupting it.
Turns 7-11:- After two turns of combat (and one Italian Stuka
downed) the last Hurricanes break and escape
- the top Sweep squadron never tallies and returns to base.
- the Jabo sqn has lowered to Altitude 0 and runs into a light
flak barrage for no effect. After another turn of barrage it
attacks the target for 2 points of damage and makes a clean
exit just ahead of the Luftwaffe Stukas
- Stukas are attacked by direct flak inflicting one loss and one
straggler
- Dive bombing by both Stuka sqns is at 25% each inflicting
another 6 damage.
- The target is already maxed out
Post-Mission:Two spitfire squadrons partially recover, leaving 3
Spotfire flights, one Spitfire sqn and one Hurricane sqn in
Recovery
RAF: -4 vp enemy fighters killed; -4 vp for 2x enemy bombers
killed= -8
AXIS: +5 vp enemy fighters killed; 8 target damage inflicted to
the airfield(0 vp)
Total: vp this mission : -8+5= -3 net
17:00
Report: - No Raid, repair 3 points damage to airfield
End of Day:
RAF:
- Recovery: one Spitfire flight stays in recovery and one
Spitfire sqn partially recovers, all others available
- RAF losses: 14
- Airfield damage: 9
AXIS:
- Fresh: 2x Ju-87;
- Still in Recovery: 4x Bf-109 flights; 1x Mc.202 flight; 2x
Ju-88 Sqns(!); 1x Luftwaffe Ju-87 sqn so not a good night for
recovering Axis aircraft (rolls were bad).
- Axis losses: Fighters: 14 Bombers: 3
Recommendations: only as noted in my previous post ( there are
not enough flight counters to accommodate all possible partial
recoveries by the RAF during the day).

Okay, I've added a sidebar to acknowledge and suggest solutions
for the Bf 109F/MC.202 counter deconfliction.
All the other deconflictions should be handed by additions to
the Origins countermix.

Scenario: Malta Campaign: Day 2: 11:00
Version: (07/21 booklet)
Playtesters: Scott Key, solitaire
August 9, 2019
11:00
Report: - No height errors; 7 clouds at alt. 5 set up by Axis,
clouds set up over entrance and exit areas to provide potential
tallying and combat troubles for RAF ; Good warning; Allied max=
8
- Allies: 2 Spitfire sqns (They were betting on a large raid at
13:00)
- Axis: Wave1: 2x Me-109 sqns (1x Veteran, experte) [sweep]; 1x
Me-109 Jabo [strafe]
- Axis: Wave 2: 1x Me-109 Escort sqn ; 3x Ju-87 sqns (1x RA),
1x Ju-88
- Fighter sweep sets up well forward, Above cloud layer; Jabo
circles in cloud until combat begins.
- RAF sets up interceptors between cloud columns but near the
flak zones
Turn 1-3: - Sweep tallies the upper interceptor. Despite
repeated attempts GCI does not reset Spitfire vectors.
Turns 4-7: -Both sweep sqns engage the upper Spitfire sqn after
it had flown within range of the Heavy flak. Unfortunately only
the Spitfires are affected by the flak and disrupt. The 109s do
not succeed in starting a dogfight. I
- The Spitfire sqn under attack leads it’s pursuer through the
flak zone and lower, near the deck. The Spitfire sqn then exits
the map.
- The other 109 sweep drops tally, then tallies and drops on the
remaining Spitfire sqn. After several turns of dogfighting the
109 sqn breaks and is allowed to escape.
- The Jabos drop from cloud and begin their slow descent towards
the cruiser.
Turns 8-14:- Bombers enter. The Ju-87s fly through cloud for
several turns. The Ju-88s are below and slightly behind them.
- The remaining, disrupted Spitfire sqn ignores the Jabos and
tallies the Ju-88s. The escorts tally the incoming interceptors
and dive to dfend the Ju-88s. Yhe interceptors break quickly and
are pursued and attacked by the for er escorts until the 109s
also break.
- The Jabo sqn strafes and bombs fro 1 point of damage to the
CL1
Turns 14-19: - Barrage flak causes 2 losses to the Luftwaffe
Stukas and Direct fire Flak later causes 1 Ju-88 to be downed
and the squadron to disrupt.
- The Stukas inflict 7 points of damage and the Ju-88 none.
Post-Mission: No recovery for the one eligible Spitfire flight
- Airfield repairs 3 points of damage to 8.
RAF: -4 vp enemy fighters killed; -6 vp for 3x enemy bombers
killed= -10
AXIS: +5 vp enemy fighters killed; 8 target damage (Heavy
Damage) inflicted to the CL1 (7vp)= +12
Total: vp this mission : = +2 net
Total for the campaign thus far= +6 vp
Recommendations: Too many counters in F0 however I understand
that shifting anything even one column changes things pretty
significantly. Out of curiosity, why are the Ju-88s restricted
to level bombing?

Had we not changed the Ju 88 restriction in a recent release to
permit glide bombing?
