Scenario: O03 Warsaw Concerto
Version: v0.4
Playtesters: Chris Bryans (Solo)
Report: This is my fourth play test of this scenario.
Turn one only one of the Pzl11s tallied the Do-17s although I
chose to gang up on the Dorniers and ignore the Heinkels for two
reasons that will be obvious to most players:
1. Better opportunities for kills/disruptions/breaking up the
attack against the airfield
2. At higher altitude the Heinkels would have less chance for
bombing success
For this reason, I also assigned a vet to the Bf-110 to offset
the overwhelming number of Pzls he'd be facing. This turned out
to be a good strategy coupled with the +1 for the combat roll
in special rule #7.
The Poles' strategy failed to disrupt the attack on the airfield
and oddly enough, though one Do17 was disrupted, he succeeded in
dropping 50% bombs on target (rolled an eleven) (11-2 disruption
+1 no flak) = 10
The Do17s' gunnery was also more effective than the
lightly-armed Pzls which failed to score more than one kill on
both the Bf-110s and the DO-17s.
The He-111s, as anticipated, weren't as effective at higher
altitude and only one squadron managed to score any hits (25%).
Victory:
Germans: 10vp bombing on the airfield (50% 7 hits; 25% 3 hits)=
10 hits; 10 vp+ 5 vp on the bridge (25%= 5 hits)+ 5 Pzl11s= 20
vp
Poles: One Do-17; one Bf110 = 3.5
20-3.5= 16.5 German victory. Certainly felt like one too.
Good scenario; lots of different possibilities and about as
well-balanced as the historical conditions allow. Count me as a
sign-off on this one.
