Roger. I shall make the changes to the set-up noting the D.XXI
variant and drop the D.XXI protection special rule.

v0.5
Player: Elias Nordling (Solo)
This time the finns were fairly skillful in making passes on the
bombers and then darting away out of reach with the fighters
that were tallied. Sooner or later the Soviet fighters will
catch them, and especially the G50:s suffered by being wiped out
entirely, but not before two lucky combat rolls that made up for
below average rolling in causing bomber kills up to then.
In all, this felt like a fairly good showing for the Finns, that
finally also managed to get the disruptions they deserved on the
bombers. they could have been even luckier in breaking up the
bombers but at least I have some confidence in judging the
scoring now.
Score:
Soviet:
Exit 9, 8 finnish fighters: 17
Finnish: 8 bombers, 3 fighters: 19
Total: 2
Soviet Win
Felt like: Finnish win
Comment: I like the scenario as is, and feel it rewards
maneuvering and player skill for both sides. I feel the scoring
is off. More playings are probably needed with the final version
to calibrate it further, but I would suggest flipping the score
to Soviet-Finnish and put Finnish victory somewhere near 0,
perhaps slightly above. I'm not quite ready to sign off as I
would like to see more plays as data points for the score, but
I'll move on for now and let others have a try.

Okay, so let’s review Elias’s recent playtests with v0.5:
Soviet exit: 9 + 18 + 18 = average 15 VP
Soviet victories: 8 + 5 + 10 = 7.6 VP
Finnish victories vs bombers: 8 + 5 + 3 = 10.6
Finnish victories vs fighters: 3 + 1 + 3 = 2.3
This means the Soviets are scoring a mean vale of 22.6 VP while
the Finns are scoring a mean of 12.8 VP.
I agree that we should probably flip the scoring. the scoring at
present very much represents the previous version, which had a
greater number of bomber squadrons.
If we flip the results, subtracting the Finnish from the Soviet
scores, then the previous test scores with v0.5 are:
Elias test #1 = +19 (perceived massive Soviet victory)
Elias test #2 = +12 (perceived overwhelming Soviet victory)
Elias test #3 = -2 (perceived Finnish win)
This suggests the draw window needs to sit somewhere around +7
to +10 VPs with the flipped victory calculation. Let’s give this
a try.

Given the number of attacks on the bombers, the averages for
soviet exiting SHOULD be lower on pure statistical probability,
but since the two scores where they got full points for exiting
are counted as Soviet big wins, it will probably work out right.

Good point. If I drop the anticipated mean exit VP then I should
probably move the draw window down a little further. Perhaps to
+6 to +9.

V0.6
Player: Elias Nordling (solo)
Played this once more to see if it felt balanced now. Then the
combat rolls started and they were all Finns: 5 - Soviet 11,
really, I gave the Finns a mulligan in a combat where they had a
2 column advantage and took 2 hits to 0.
But then, as the Finnish fighters were tied up in dogfights,
thanks to heroic cohesion rolls they started to outlast the
Soviet fighters. Two finnish fighters were left when all Soviet
fighters were gone and they went for the green bomber...
That had the most cool-headed aft-gunner and pilot in the fleet.
Not only were we back to the 5-12 combat rolls, but it also
passed an inordinate amount of cohesion checks before finally
disrupting in the last combat.
In the end, the finns took a beating, but also managed to take
down a bunch of bombers.
Score:
Soviet: Exit 12, 6 Finnish fighters: 18
Finnish: 6 bombers, 1 I16: 13
Total score: 5
Finnish victory
Felt like: Finnish hard won victory
Comment: It was a good game, and a few rolls either way and it
could have turned out differently. With that, I'm signing off on
this scenario, which I think means you can also mark it as done.

Following Rick's check of scenario dates, I have adjusted the
order of battle slightly to that the G.50 bis is now a regular
G.50.
