Fair point. A problem is that the Halifaxes are so high. What if
we dropped them one altitude?

That should work, and it doesn't make it harder for the Germans
to tally the Halifaxes.

I set up sweep Spits in M12, L13 (wing leader has to be 12 or
less, second son can set up in L13 in formation). Escorts K11,
J11 & back marker H11, G11 or thereabouts. No big Spit
formations & some chance to avoid mass tallies by german wings.

Well, unless we want this scenario to be a puzzle about finding
the perfect tricky setup for the British, i still think we
should shift the forward bombers down one level.

Agreed. I don't see that this is a change that affects anything
significantly, unless Gordon has a view on that.
