End, Week 9. We had to do some correction to the numbers this
week, but we have now hit the 150 plays mark, though i think my
estimate of 215 plays for all the scenarios is under by at least
25 plays and probably more.
I’m pleased to see at least one of the scenarios that hadn’t
been played has broken its duck. Playtest direction is pretty
much the same as last week.

With our latest game of Shall we cancel the party, I'm happy to
sign off on that one. With Pete's vp-suggestions, I think it is
fine as is.

As there's only been a couple of tests this last week, and no
significant changes, I am not updating the test status this
week, or the Origins book. Now that the Victories/Eagles work is
out of the way, next week we can get back to work on Origins.

Been working on Target: Madrid here, straddling a system crash.
The .vsav survived, though the .vlog didn't. Fun scenario: First
impression = fun time for fighters. The bombers may or may not
matter depending on how their bombing rolls go.

End, Week 11. It’s been a slow couple of weeks because of the
mad rush on Victories/Eagles delivery, but we’ve had an uptick
in signoffs, which is great. We’re almost three months into test
and overall progress has been great. I see no reason why another
three or four months won’t put us over the line on the
scenarios, which would then permit us to concentrate on the
campaign.
Here’s the current status:

Playtest Direction. I’d like to continue with the veteran
testers focussing on those scenarios that have had an iteration
or two but need finishing.
Can the rest of you please focus on those scenarios still in the
red or that have had less than five plays?

End, Week 12. It’s been a slow but steady week.

End, Week 13. It’s been another slow week. I understand that
Real Life has impinged on many of you, and makes test difficult,
but I’m hoping that in the weeks ahead we’ll pick up the pace a
fraction. We certainly couldn’t sustain the breakneck pace of
the early weeks of test, but I’m hoping that going ahead we can
sustain 7-8 tests a week in total, around double what we’ve done
in the last fortnight. At that rate we should complete scenario
testing in around 3-4 more months.
Again I appreciate the volunteer effort going into this. Any and
all tests you guys can make are valuable data, especially that
now the scenarios are starting to settle down and we are moving
into balancing the scenarios. There’s only a couple of ‘red’
scenarios left, and I’m sure they’ll go yellow in the near
future.

End, Week 14. So it’s been a slow week on Origins testing, but
that’s okay. We are well ahead of where I thought we’d be at
this stage of the project, and a look at the playtest tracker
reveals we’ve actually got 15 out of 26 scenarios to the point
where most of the adjustments are done and we are now in final
balancing and signoff. Of the other 11 scenarios, 9 are just one
or two tests away from being ‘green’, which again I define as
the point where we are simply balancing.
So overall we’re in a real strong position right now. Though the
test completion percentage says 78.6% complete so far, I reckon
the final number of tests needed will probably be closer to 240
rather than 215. This puts us around the 70% completion mark.

End, Week 15. I think this has been a really good week and is
indicative of the pace I’d like to sustain. At this rate we
should be done in around 3-4 months.
Note that I have recalculated my completion percentage on 240
plays rather than the previous 215. This still puts us around
the 75% completion mark, given the ten plays we added this last
week.
Playtest Direction. In terms of test effort, I’d still like to
see some effort put into those two scenarios still in red. Also
those still in amber could do with fresh eyes on them - if you
see one you haven’t played, please give it a try.
I’d also like someone other than Chris to give the rejigged O10
Flying Fish a runout.
