Re: Transit into flying bombing profile

I'm torn on this example. Certainly the original intent was that
the freedom was assumed while the profile was being flown and
not before, but I can see how the rule can be used in this way.
If we were to stick to the original intent, how do we fix this?
I recall we had a version of the rule where the restrictions
were loosened only when flying a profiles, but you had an
objection to that, which resulted in the change to the current
wording where movement was free on turns in which a profile was
flown. Can you recall what the objection was to the idea that
the movement was freed only during the profile?
Update: Was this when we did not have a firm definition of when
profiles commenced? And is that fixed in the current rules set?
As an aside, I still think I should limit aiming to taking place
after a profile has commenced.

I can't remember that I wanted the restriction lifted, and why
in that case :-) I think I've always played fairly strict, with
max 1 level dive before profile, but there has been a lot of
games under the bridges :-)

I seem to recall there was a phasing issue that may well have
been resolved when I defined the start of the profile in the
rules.
So, if I changed 15.2.1 so that the (a) to (c) restriction is
lifted on commencement of the profile, do we see any problems
with that?

Apologize if this question has been addressed elsewhere and I
failed to see it.
Rule 9.2.1 tasks bombers to move two squares per turn without
changing altitude or turning. But 15.2.1 allows bombers to
change altitude - a separate rule from that of the profiles they
fly. I have no problem with that, particularly with the note in
the margin on page 40 explaining this rule. Perhaps if we
changed 9.2.1 to correspond to the 15.2. It's a simple fix
unless there is something I am missing.

9.2.1 is the basic rule for non-bombing scenarios, and I really
don't want bombers changing their altitudes in those scenarios.
15.2.1 gives more flexibility to bombers in bombing scenarios,
particularly if they have to change their altitudes to get into
position for a particular bombing profile.
