Some general news on proofing:
(1) Vincent Levfavrais is back and ready to help out with
proofing efforts. He's going to make a pass on the Victories
second edition scenario book and make sure it's all spick and
span.
(2) Rick is away at present but will be back in February, when
the intention is that he is going to make a proofing pass on the
Eagles book.

I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to thank everyone for
all their effort so far, both with the Victories/Eagles work,
and the Origins testing. This stuff doesn't get made without you
guys putting in a shift.
At 100+ tests for Origins after five weeks, I'm happy that we're
well on track for a great expansion with some really fun
scenarios. I'm also pleased that the game is starting to reach a
critical mass with the number of scenarios, the theatres
covered, and the ADCs. If not the most comprehensive WW2 air
game, Wing Leader is certainly close. And it's thanks to you
guys!
Cheers!

The future-proofing 1948 thread has gotten me thinking about
long-term strategy for Wing Leader. To be frank, the game series
is now starting to drift towards the end of its product cycle.
However, it's worth laying out future possibilities--what we
might do together before I move on from the game to something
else.
(1) WL: Origins. After getting the Victories reprint and Eagles
out of the door, that leaves Origins as the main focus for
development. I'm planning on this taking us up to the latter
half of this year. I can't predict when it will be published, as
there are so many variables, such as P500 numbers and GMT
production slots. It could be as early as Q4 of this year, but
more likely Q1 or Q2 next year. I expect you guys to be finished
with testing by this autumn.
(2) WL: Supremacy. After Origins I would like to put together a
proposal for a reprint of Supremacy. This might be along similar
lines to Victories, and it would include four new ADCs, some new
counters and scenarios. Note that this can't really go into
production until Supremacy is sold out, and I have no idea what
GMT stock levels are on that game. However, we could still
commence work in secret with a view to having everything ready
to go once we get notification that Supremacy is out of stock.
(3) C3i. I have an open invite from Rodger to produce materials
for C3i magazine. This comes out infrequently, but it's still a
good venue for scenarios that require counters in new, bespoke
schemes. I don't know if this is a thing I'll pursue or not. For
now, it's an option for the core guys who want to build new
content on the back of the edifice we've created.
(4) Expansion Nr.4. There may be scope for a fourth expansion.
It's difficult to know what the focus for that expansion could
be. Most of the important wartime aircraft are covered, so the
danger is that another WW2 expansion only covers those scraps,
and odds and ends, that didn't fit anywhere else. My worry is
that this would be unfocussed, and after Origins there's not a
lot of sexy stuff left to put in the game. This is why I've been
casting glances at the idea of a 1948 game. It has a strong
theme and a LOT of sexy 'planes.
But as I say, I don't know where my head will be at in a year. I
don't know where YOU guys will be a year from now. Maybe you'll
be sick of this stuff and after Origins we'll all be aready to
move on. Of this list, I'm committed to (1) and probably (2),
but after that I'm not set on anything. . .

So, while I've been super-busy with proofing work and burbling
about future projects, how is testing coming along? Will I be
seeing some AARs before the weekend?

I've been super-tired in the evenings lately, but hope to get a
game or two done for the weekend.

I'm halfway through with another try at Heavy Mob. I'll post an
AAR tomorrow morning, Florida time.

I’m afraid it’s only a 50% chance that I will play another game
this weekend. But will get back to Wuhan Clan soon

I also posted a question under the key word "Orders" in the
rules discussion that maybe someone can help me with.

Lee, any particular direction you want me to go in? Is Malta
ready for a spin?

Malta is not ready to go yet. I want to wait on Gordon and
Andrew's AAR, which i believe might adjust some of the recovery
mechanics.
In the meantime, I think it would be good to get your eyes on
two of the later scenarios, such as O23 Operation Sunrise and
O24 Heavy Mob.
