       S 13
       v 1.3
       Game 3
Axis vets and experten in 109's, other vet in a Romanian on
       board IAR.
       American vets in lead fighter-bombers.
FLAK- effective, shot down 3 x P-38, disrupted 2 bombers and
       affected 3 bomb runs.
BOMBING- 4 hits on factory for 6 VP.
No bombers exited without disruption or being
       broken.
       LOSSES- 14 x P-38
       21 VP
       4 x IAR
       1 x 109
       5 VP
VICTORY- 11- 21= -10 for Axis victory, felt like Axis victory.
THOUGHTS- P-38 sweepers not able to tally the IAR's on turn 1,
and when they did the escorts and sweepers weren't as effective
this time in combat. FLAK was the difference maker assuring no
bombers were able to exit unscathed. I had discounted FLAK
suppression, but Jean demonstrated it could be effective so I
want to try that next game. Good scenario, some good choices
with assets and where to position the onbaord Romanians and the
       turn 7 interceptors.

Okay, it's that time to assemble play data and try and define
       victory levels:
       American Bombing - 6 + 24 + 6 + 15 + 6 = mean 11.4 VPs
       American exit bonus - 0 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 0 = mean 6.0 VPs
       Axis Losses - 15 + 11 + 15 + 14 + 5 = mean 12.0 VPs
       Allied Losses - 22.5 + 16.5 + 24 + 15 + 21 = mean 19.8 VPs
This gives us a mean results of +9.6, suggesting we push the
       victory threshold higher.
       Results so far are:
       Gordon/Andrew 2 = -1.5 (Axis Victory)
       Forrest 1 = +28.5 (American Victory)
       Forrest 2 = +7 (American Victory)
       Jean 1 = +24 (American Victory)
       Forrest 3 = -10 (Axis victory)
I suspect that shifting the victory threshold upward would
change Forrest's second play to a draw or even Axis win.
       More test data needed.

       S13
       v 1.3
       Solo
American vets in lead fighter-bombers armed with ATGR.
Axis vets in 109's with experten and vet in 1 on board IAR.
FLAK- effective until heavy flak was suppressed. 3 x P-38's
       shot down.
BOMBING- 10 hits on factory for 12 VP, 6 hits on heavy FLAK for
5 VP, and 1 hit on light FLAK for 1 VP.
       18 VP
       SSR- no fighter-bombers exited unscathed.
       0 VP
       LOSSES- 11 x IAR81
       5 x 109
       16 VP
       15 x P-38
       22.5 VP
VICTORY- 34-22.5 for net of 11.5 for American victory.
Suppressing the heavy FLAK helped a lot, the P-38 sweepers
didn't tally anything and were worthless. I should have had them
strafe after turn 2 with no tallies. Felt like American victory
as factory was hit pretty good.

Note that SSR 3 forbids use of ATGR. I shall make this more
       explicit.

Okay, despite the issue with using ATGR, let's throw in
       Forrest's fourth play:
       American Bombing - 6 + 24 + 6 + 15 + 6 + 17 = mean 12.3 VPs
       American exit bonus - 0 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 0 + 0 = mean 5.0 VPs
       Axis Losses - 15 + 11 + 15 + 14 + 5 + 16 = mean 12.6 VPs
       Allied Losses - 22.5 + 16.5 + 24 + 15 + 21 + 22.5 = mean 20.3
       VPs
This keeps the mean results at +9.6.
       Results so far are:
       Gordon/Andrew 2 = -1.5 (Axis Victory)
       Forrest 1 = +28.5 (American Victory)
       Forrest 2 = +7 (American Victory)
       Jean 1 = +24 (American Victory)
       Forrest 3 = -10 (Axis victory)
       Forrest 4 = +11.5 (American victory)
Shifting the draw window upward to +8 to +10.5 would would
       change the results from an Allied 4W 0D 2L to 3W 0D 3L, which
puts us in a pretty good place.
I'd like to move Forrest along S06 The Last Hunters and get
someone else to give me a couple of plays of Plastering Ploesti
       before we wrap this up.

       Lee,
Today I've started my second test of that scenario.
       Should have results tomorrow.
I think I'll be able to do a third run before X-Mas.
       Best.

       Scenario: S13 Plastering Ploesti - Test 02
       Version: v1.6
       Playtester: Jean Foisy [Solo]
       Plans:
       - The US plan was to use the Sweepers P-38 to suppress the Lt
Flak, then cover the retiring FBs.
       - Only the escort will defend against the 2 IARs Squadrons
       - The Axis plan was to engage at all costs the FBs as soon as
       possible.
       - The Turn 7 reinforcements will choose good-order targets in
       the FB formation.
       Report:
       - Game lasted 15 turns
       - There was no vector height error at set-up excepted except the
109s Squadron Squdron on turn 7.
       - Axis 2 x Veteran and 2 x Experten counters were assigned to
the 109s. The last Veteran was assigned to an At Start IAR
       Squadron.
       - Allied Veteran were assigned the Lead FBs.
       - The Flak suppression P-38s Suppressed the Lt Flak, then gained
height to cover the retiring FBs..
       - The Steep bombing P-38s managed to get 12 hits on the Factory.
       - The Flak was very effective this time; 5 Losses and 9
Stragglers fo a net 10 Losses, 1 Stragglers. Impressive.
       - On Turn 07 the new interceptors were put on the map. At that
time only one FB was broken.
       - The last good order FBs was broken on Turn 12 by a 109
       Squadron.
       Victory:
       ALLIED VPs: (12 x IAR and 2 x 109): 14 VPs
       ALLIED bombing Results:
       - 3 Hits on LtFlak(Minor Damage): 3 VPs
       - 12 Hits on the Factory(Crippling Damage): 24 VPs
       - No Bomber exited in Good Order: 0 VP
       ALLIED TOTAL = 41 VPs
       AXIS VPs: (18 x P-38) = 27 VPs
       AXIS TOTAL = 27 VPs
SCENARIO TOTAL: +14 --> ALLIED victory [Perceived Victory Level:
       ALLIED]
       Recommendations: None

Thanks, Jean. One more run and we'll check the averages. If they
look good we'll put a cap on this.

       Lee,
       Scenario: S13 Plastering Ploesti - Test 03
       Version: v1.6
       Playtester: Jean Foisy [Solo]
       Plans:
       - The US plan was to protect the FBs at all costs.
       - Without Flak Suppression, the lead bombers would circle and
       wait for the others.
The FBs would bomb the Factory in the same turn hoping to swamp
       the Flak.
       - The Axis plan was to engage at all costs the FBs as soon as
       possible.
       - The Turn 7 reinforcements will choose good-order targets in
       the FB formation.
       Report:
       - Game lasted 12 turns
       - There was no vector height error for the duration
       - Axis 2 x Veteran and 2 x Experten counters were assigned to
the starting IARs. THe last Veteran was assigned to a 109
       Squadron.
       - Allied Veteran were assigned the lead FBs Squadrons.
       - The 1 on map IAR managed to disrupt 2 FB Squadrons by Turn 06.
       - At the AXIS reinforcements arrival(Turn 7), only 1 P-38
Fighter Squadron was left to protect the FBs.
       - The Flak was effective too; 3 Losses and 6 Stragglers fo a net
       6 Losses.
       Victory:
       ALLIED VPs: (6 x IAR and 1 x 109): 7 VPs
       ALLIED bombing Results:
       - 3 Hits on the Factory(Minor Damage): 6 VPs
       - No Bomber exited in Good Order: 0 VP
       ALLIED TOTAL = 13 VPs
       AXIS VPs: (18 x P-38) = 27 VPs
