AT Gun ABILITY & Bombs
By: ScottKey Date: August 22, 2020, 9:31 am

[s]So (just because it would have made the difference between
victory and defeat in my last game) I am assuming that since the
Hs-129 has the AT Gun ABILITY it can still carry the 4 points of
bombs listed on the card, correct?[/s]
Ok, answered my own question (definition of AT Gun in the new
rulebook) and will update the stuff in the Kursk report.

The AT Gun Pod is not compatible with bombs but the AT Gun
ability is.

Yeah
I knew about the pod load restriction but was confused by the
bomb rating. Today I was smart enough to do a PDF search and the
answer was right there..

So are there any text changes that would help reduce confusion?

I think "The value is the bomb value." is terse to the point of
confusion. Something like The value is used as the bombing value
instead of the regular bomb value when strafing"?

That sounds more confusing to me. The strafing rules are really
specific on what value you use as the bomb value when strafing.
This descriptor should support that definition - the bomb value
in this specific situation is THIS - not confuse by saying, ‘oh,
there are multiple values to choose from and you should use this
one not that one’. Let me have a think on this.

Fair enough, but "the value is the bomb value" is a really
confusing sentence too, as it can be read both directions. That
is, as intended, or as "the aircraft's bomb rating is the value
of the AT gun".

Again, as I wrote in the Kursk forum, I really believe my
problem came from overthinking and actually looking for ways I
might have mis-played.
However a backwards type of solution would just be to include,
in scenarios where an AT Gun equipped aircraft type is used, an
SSR that says something to the eefe t of “the Hs-129 sqn is
carrying bombs”.

How about this?
The value is the bomb value used for strafing.

Yes, that can't be read both ways.
