>S08: Not tested. Looks fine. One we'd like to try (as it looks
interesting & fun!)
It's a good one, I remember we tinkered a lot to get the flow
just right. The adjustments to the FB rules means this probably
needs a check-up to see that the timing against the targets
still work.
>S16: Not tested. Looks fine. Slightly generic 8th AF scenario.
Possibly heretical thought but could we replace this with Ore
Mountains & add something else instead?
This one's good because it is one of the few non-monster heavy
bomber scenarios.
>S19: Not tested. One we'd both like to have a go at.
interesting looking scenario & probably the scenario most likely
to be affected by changes to the bombing rules. Possibly too
many ground targets & too swingy with bombing by current
standards? Probably high on the last for review & maybe some
redesign?
This one sticks out for me as one that will need recalibration.
Flak was toned down during playtesting as I recall, but there is
still a lot of rolling.
>S24: Tested repeatedly & worked. Should be fine.
One of my all-time favourites. Since the attackers are sweeps
and not FB:s, I don't think it is much affected by rules
development.

Okay, here’s my list of scenarios, triaged:
REDESIGN
These may need serious surgery to the point where they could be
very different scenarios.
S12 The Return of the Guards - I feel I want to redesign this.
Like many of Andy’s scenarios there’s a lot going on here and
I’m not sure it all coheres.
S18 Ramrod 5-31 - Do we need to rethink any part of this? Gordon
suggests we could make this a simpler bomber exit scenario.
S29 Kursk Counterattack - I’d like to take another punt at this
given the improved information in the new Bergstrom. We may need
to lose the Yak-9s.
TWEAK
I originally put these in my redesign list, but broke them out
into this tweak list because I think we will need to tweak and
fiddle with these rather than have a full on redesign.
S05 Foul-up Over Wewak - Perhaps move to deterministic bombing
as we’ve done on other heavy bomber scenarios. Do we need to
nerf the flak?
S11 Operation Ro - With so few bomber squadrons does this need a
redesign? Perhaps with deterministic bombing results?
S13 Plastering Ploesti - I think the set-up needs a rethink and
tweak as it makes no sense with the way we make wings. My other
concern here is the huge amount of flak.
S15 Home Islands - Does this need a rethink, particularly
regarding targets and missions? The F6F bombers could be a
strafing mission, for example.
S16 Force on Force - I reckon the scenario is fine but I might
tweak to make it correspond to an actual historical raid rather
than a generic raid. Now I have Caldwell’s book I’ll dig into
this one.
S19 Asso di Bastoni - Perhaps move to deterministic bombing as
we’ve done on other heavy bomber scenarios. Do we need to nerf
the flak?
S21 Gunships! - Gordon has suggested at least taking another
peek at this and seeing if there’s anything that can be shaved
down. (Perhaps the defences?)
S26 Two-ocean Navy - Does this need the number of targets
trimming?
PURE FIGHTER SCENARIOS
We have a number of pure fighter scenarios. Do these need a
redesign?
S02 Piling On
S03 Rat Patrol
S04 You Don’t Know Jack
RETEST
S06 The Last Hunters - Do we need to nerf the flak on this?
S07 Black Friday - Perhaps a retest given the levels of flak and
new ATGR values. I can see the defences being nerfed.
S08 First Blood on D-Day - Does this still work okay with the
changes to fighter-bomber rules?.
S25 Escape from Tapa - I think we may need to re-look at this
and see if it still stands up.
THE REST
S01 Climb the Matterhorn - Simple solo scenario, probably needs
no more work.
S09 Operation 60,000 - Probably okay.
S10 A First-class Show - Probably okay.
S14 Hadley & Evans - Probably okay.
S17 Smashing the Line - probably okay.
S20 Last Hopes - Probably okay.
S22 Unlucky 13th - Probably okay.
S23 The Destroyers Attack - Probably okay.
S24 The Death of Jagdgeshwader 1 - Probably okay. (Elias
reckon’s it’s good.)
S27 Greycap - Probably okay.
S28 Last Punch at Luzon - Probably okay.
S30 Cornered Wolf - Probably okay.

Gordon suggests we could make this a simpler bomber exit
scenario.
I like that it is similar to the Circus scenarios of Victories,
the narrative is stronger that way. For that reason I'd keep the
bombing.

Okay, let’s lay some quick ground rules for the Supremacy 2e OLD
scenarios:
(1) We’re not dropping or replacing any scenario.
(2) We are not renaming or renumbering any scenario.
Basically, rules (1) and (2) means we might change how a
scenario is played, but we’re not screwing with the content or
subject matter in any substantive way.
(3) We can redesign scenarios and even rebuild them if we want,
provided they don’t deviate from the original subject matter. I
have no problem if the way a scenario plays changes.
(4) If a change requires new counters let’s discuss that.
Ideally we don’t need new counters, and stick to the existing
Supremacy countermix, but new counters are not off the table
either. I have, currently, spare slots for [s]ten[/s] nine new
counters.
I think that’s more-or-less it.

So I’m calling a day on the Legends Kursk campaign. So what’s
next?
(1) Tip and Run needs to be taken to beta. I’m waiting on it to
reach Alpha; it’s in the hands of Gordon and Andrew right now.
When it comes back from them we’ll need some people to beta
test.
(2) The four new Supremacy scenarios need test. Who’s up for
that? When I know who is in I’ll set up a tracking spreadsheet
and do the first assignments.
(3) I will not be doing any test on any other Supremacy
scenarios until we have the new content up to snuff.
