       Escort Reaction
By: Elias Nordling Date: February 13, 2020, 10:30 am

This one was new, but just happened: An escort climbs in
movement, then dives in escort reaction. Is it marked climbing,
       diving or both?

Wow, that is an interesting one. I guess it is marked based on
       what it did last.

Yeah that is what would make sense to me. Mark it diving.

       Thinking on this further:
       (a) Is this something we need to fix? This seems like a rare
       edge-case situation.
       (b) Does being permissive - allowing a dive and climb in the
same Movement Phase - break things or permit an advantage? Is
       this a sleaze move?
       (c) If we do a fix, what would it look like if we made a blanket
ban on reaction in any turn the escort has changed altitude?
I’m a little concerned that any fix to this would take a
paragraph of text in a book that has no spare space. If we do
try and fix this, something simple like a blanket ban might be
       simpler to legislate.

       a) It depends on playing style. If you climb with bombers,
you'll see a lot of it.
       b) it is essentially how I've played it and I don't think it
       will break anything.
       c) I think this has a fairly high risk of breaking stuff.
Basically, I think all the rule needs is a clarification if it
is the first, last, best or worst that applies to an escort that
does both. Last is the most intuitive, and probably how I've
been playing it without thinking about it. Worst has a certain
       logic to it, though.

How about a compromise? If an escort climbs during the movement
phase, it cannot claim a diving bonus in the reaction phase?
That would de-fang any attempts at abuse.
