We're one scenario in. LW OB4 (now officially confirmed as A Bad
Idea-even a pretty blinding performance from Allan himself
couldn't save them) vs Soviet OB2
We dropped it to a single airfield target which the Bostons hit
       hard (12 hits; DRs 11,12,3).
LW lost 4 fighters (fighters outnumbered 5:3, hard not to though
the final indignity was Allan losing Werner, his faithful
wingman, to Boston defensive gunfire...) VVS lost 7 fighters
(good performance on this occasion by Allan- 5 fighters & a
       Boston) & 5 Bostons (3 to flak).
The Bostons are better than I had remembered (low drag &
fast)-though they haven't had a lot of scenario exposure so far.
I think VVS OB2 is borderline or a +1 CVP shift.
Single bombing target did feel better; bombing rolls were good
(the third squadron rolling 3 was broken) & we're inclined to
treat this a sa Soviet win so we can move on to DAK 02
       Cheers
       Gordon

Tvey are in Operation Arcturus and Last Hurrah, so Legends
       improves that.

       Indeed:-))
Fast and slippery blighters Bostons, especially mid war though
handicapped a bit by small bomb load . Once again the game fits
       the history well...
Once we're through with the campaign Arcturus is high up the
list of scenarios I'd like to have a go at in beta
       Cheers

Arcturus is a beast, I was a bit too tired when playtesting it
and kept forgetting important maneuvers of oob changes.

       Andrew and Gordon,
I have just uploaded fresh OOB sheets for the Germans and
Soviets to dropbox. I’ve had a tinker with these, but I’d love
you guys to look at these and feed back either today or
tomorrow. I’m happy to take your suggestions for further tweaks
before we put this through the next round of test.
Tomorrow I’m going to dive into the scenarios and do some tweaks
to those, but in the meantime I’d appreciate your feedback on
       these OOBs.

Looks pretty reasonable to me. The additional LW escorts should
give Ons 1,2,3 a bit more staying power & prevent bomber
massacres. OB 1 is powerful but -1 CVP which seems reasonable.
OB4 is intriguing-small but stacked with veteran/ experte
combinations so definitely one I would try again. Small
quantity but extreme quality. -1 CVP for 5 seems reasonable.
Soviet OB 5 is defanged a bit. In the context of the stronger
german fighter OBs this might be one to watch as it might be a
swing back slightly too far in the other direction but I'd be
happy to leave as is at the moment & test.
       Cheers

Luftwaffe OB #1 might be a tad powerful. I upped it by a
squadron because of a lack of space to add a flight. Still, it’s
a -1 CVP and it might be the card the German player plays to get
       the job done.
I thought about adding another flight to Luftwaffe OB #4, but
maxing out the Veterans and Experten felt really interesting.
As for Luftwaffe OB #5, I could always up the Veteran markers by
1 if you felt we needed to really justify the -1 CVP. What do
       you think?

Agree about 1-it's a monster but it costs a CVP. You need to be
work to kill Soviet fighters as well s bomb to justify the -1
CVP. Similarly another veteran for 5 makes it a bit of a monster
but probably justifies the -1 CVP. I like 4 as small numbers but
extreme quality. This point in the East seems one of the few
occasions where an OB like this feels historically justifiable &
it makes for something very different & interesting.
One thought is that we need to think about incentives for the
opposition not to just run away against a strong OB to avoid the
potential CVP hit for losses. Not quite sure how to frame it
though. Possibly a CVP penalty if most of the fighters on a
side don't engage?....not at all elegant & i'm sure there must
       be something better
       Cheers

Re: running away. I'm refactoring the bonus CVP for losses.
Perhaps we need to see if running away is an issue.
I'll add a Veteran to Luftwaffe OB #5. If that turns out to be
too much of a monster we can dial it back. I'll post up the
       change on Sunday.

I shall be releasing a new version of the campaign tomorrow,
complete with new OOBs and play aid.
A big change on this version is to reverse the sides so that the
Luftwaffe scores negative Campaign Victory Points and the
Soviets score positive. This means the CVP track now travels
       east/west.
