       V0.1
       Player: Elias Nordling (solo)
       First to log!
This one need some massaging. The Yugoslavs managed to get in a
3 attacks on the bombers, but for no effect and at terrible
cost, and they would have scored better by just running away.
The air battle was essentially over before the forces arrived
over the combat zone. Given the meager flak, the Germans felt
safe in doing level bombing from the deck. They rolled well in
bombing and maxed out by the third bomber so the rest bombed the
       flak.
The die probably favoured the germans slightly, but the setup
       more so.
       Score:
Germans: 39 VP bombing, 20 Yugoslav fighters: 59
       Yugoslav: 6 Bf109, 1 Bf110, 2 Stukas: 9,5
       TOTAL 49,5
       Comments:
I don't think we should worry about the score just yet.
I think the setup should be compacted, so that the bombers set
up closer to the target, and the interceptors closer to the
bombers. The Yugoslavs need to be able to tally the bombers
early to have a chance at reaching them before being thrashed. I
also think the German fighter assets should be toned down
slightly, as they have a significant quality advantage.
Obviously, the medium bombers will dive to the deck if we allow
them. Either we disallow this by special rule, or add a light
flak to give the player the choice but at a risk.
Knowing the exact squares the Hurricanes appear will allow the
sweeps to park in them and wait for them. Some variability would
       be nice.
Special rule 3 can be made less ambiguous by simply saying if
the Yugoslav player doesn't use the flak, the German player may.
That's it from the first trial run, looking forward to the next
       iteration.

Okay, I've addressed the special rules that you have noted. I
have moved the target much closer to the bombers. I've given the
Hurricanes a much freer set-up. I've also removed a German sweep
squadron, though I wonder if that is sufficient. The starting
Yugoslav 109s and IK-3 I've shifted left so they are almost on
top of the German sweep at the start. Hopefully that will do the
       business.
I'll be issuing an update at the weekend.

       v0.2
       Player: Elias Nordling (Solo)
This game was a bit of a massacre, the Yugoslavs had poor combat
rolls, but their biggest problem is their protection rating. It
means they take heavy losses which in turn make them break
       quickly.
They did get a few combats on the bombers that were completely
ineffective. The Hurricanes did a better job, but there were
plenty of German fighters to keep them occupied. Basically, all
but one of the initial Yugoslav fighters were dispatched without
german losses and only a single cohesion hit. The flak was more
effective, which means the yugoslavs would once again have been
better off not attacking at all.
       Score
       German: 10 bomb hits=12, 13 fighters: 25
       Yugo: 2 Stukas, 1 He111, 3 Bf110: 8,5
       TOTAL: 16,5 Massive German win
Comment: Heavy damage is probably the most likely result from
German bombing, unless one of the He111s or Stukas roll really
       high.
Maybe the Hurricanes should enter turn 3 instead of turn 4? This
time the fight was basically over when the Hurricanes arrived.
I'm not sure what to do to help the Yugoslavs. Taking out a
German experte helps a little, they don't need the firepower. I
also think forcing one of the escorts to set up adjacent to the
stukas would make Yugoslav tally easier. As it is now they will
have to be beaten up by the sweep for a turn before they can
       reach the bombers.

Maybe just award the Germans 1 VP for each successful bomb
attack by an non-disrupted squadron? That might help some.

That will just make it harder for the Yugoslavs to affect the
score. The bombing part works fairly well now.

So is the problem that the starting Yugoslav 109s get absorbed
by the sweep, leaving thin pickings for the Hurricanes when they
       turn up?
I'm wondering how to reconfigure this to get it to work. One
option might be to set up at least one of the Yugo units between
       the sweeps and the bombers.

They get badly beaten up by the sweep and escort, usually so
badly that it negates any gains from air combat for the
       Yugoslavs.
Then, when the Hurricanes show up, the Initial wave of Yugoslavs
are gone while both the sweeps and escorts are mostly there and
able to give them their full attention.

Okay, I shall do the following:
       (1) Drop the German veteran and Experte markers by 1 each
       (2) Moved one of the German squadrons slightly from J10 to K11
       (3) Moved the IK-3 flight to I10
       (4) Hurricanes enter turn 3
       (5) Force at least one Bf 110 squadron to set up adjacent to the
       Ju 87s
I'm hoping this forces the German to choose between the sweep
dealing with the Yugo 109s or the IK-3s. It might also stress
       the escort.

Setting up the IK-3 in I10 does look odd...
