First off, what will the split limits be for the Italian
fighters. They are grouped into wing formations so the wing
leader will be able to split the squadrons into flights. There
is currently only 1 MC.205 flight in Supremacy countermix. What
       will be the legacy countermix?

       That's a good question. There's currently a second MC.205 flight
planned in ANR colours, so we can give 1 Gruppo a split limit of
       2. However, we have no flights planned for the G.55s at present.
I only have one slot free for new counters, so if we gave the
G.55s a 2 split limit that would wipe out my spare and I'd have
to cut a counter from somewhere else.
My first question is whether we permit splits at all. On your
first play can you assess whether splits are necessary at all?
If they are then I shall have to find a way to make the counters
available. But if it works without splits (i.e. you find no
pressing reason to split in play) then we can add a no-split
       SSR.

       Scenario:L18 Fantastic Fives
       Version: 0.1
       Playtesters: Scott Key, solitaire
       Report:
       - Game lasted 9 turns
       - There was one height error at set-up
       - The Veltro wing leader sqn had one experte and the veteran
       - Both G.55 squadrons were green
       - The P-38 top escort was given 1 Veteran counters and one
       experte.
       - The ANR wings were able to use GCI successfully 2 out of 3
       tries.
       - The Veltros were vectored into the lower, leading bomber box’s
path before reaching the target. They were then late reacted to
by one lower P-38 sqn. The other low P.38 sqn had been ordered
to attack the second Mc.205 sqn.
       - One P-38 vs Mc.205 combat was turned into a dogfight by the
       Lightning sqn
       - 2 B-24 losses were inflicted by the Mc.205 squadrons and 2
more were inflicted by the G.55s.
       - Weather played a meaningful roll in the first 5 turns with
       regard to LOS and tallying.
       - The P.38s did not split.
       Flak Summary:
       - Direct Flak was used in Turns 4 & 7
       - Barrage was used in Turns 5 & 6
       - Heavy Flak caused 3 cohesion checks, all passed; 7 hits were
       scored resulting in 2 stragglers
       Bombing Summary:
       - 3 squadrons scored hits on the Factory (10%,10%, 25%) for 9
damage which did heavy damage to the target.
       ANR: x3 fighters downed= -3 vp; x5 bombers downed= -15 vp: -18
       vp
USAAF: x13 fighters downed=+13vp; Heavy Damage inflicted to the
       Factory= +12 vp: +25 vp
Victory: marginal USAAF felt like marginal USAAF Victory
       Total: +7 vp
       Recommendations:
       - At first I could not see how the ANR squadrons had any chance,
esp the G.55s. However by using their high turning ratings they
really stood up well to the Lightnings.
       - At first I thought maybe moving the scenario forward one turn
would be a good idea, but I think it’s better to let the ANR
squadrons be able to have a turn to try and use GCI if there is
a height error at set up.
       - The scenario seems well balanced and ready for Beta. It’s a
good, solid scenario that shows the Italian planes in an
       interesting light.

Scott, can you give this a second run so that we have comparison
       scores?

       Scenario:L18 Fantastic Fives
       April 10, 2020 second play
       Version: 0.1
       Playtesters: Scott Key, solitaire
       Report:
       - Game lasted 7 turns
       - There were two height errors at set-up taking two turns of GCI
       to correct
       - The Veltro wing leader sqn had one experte and the veteran
       - Both G.55 squadrons were green
       - The P-38 top escort was given 1 Veteran counters and one
       experte.
       - The ANR wings were able to use GCI successfully 3 out of 4
       tries.
       - ANR squadrons went right at the bombers before they were over
the target. 1 G.55 sqn was able to attack a B-24 sqn without
escort interference, 2 were late reacted to and another had been
       tallied. G.55s downed 1 bomber and Mc.255s the other. 1 G.55 sqn
broke after the first round of combat.
       - P-38 flights/squadrons started 2 dogfights immediately
       Flak Summary:
       - Barrage was used in Turns 5 through 7
       - Heavy Flak caused 7 cohesion checks, all passed; 7 hits were
scored resulting in x1 bomber straggler and x2 P-38 losses
       Bombing Summary:
       - x2 squadrons scored hits on the Factory (10%,25%) for 7 damage
which did heavy damage to the target.
       - x1 B-24 sqns were disrupted before bombing occurred (x2 at end
of game); x1 B-24 sqn was disrupted when bombing (x2 at the end)
       ANR: x3 fighters downed= -3 vp; x2 bombers downed= -6 vp: -9 vp
USAAF: x10 fighters downed=+10vp; Heavy Damage inflicted to the
       Factory= +12 vp: +22 vp
Victory: USAAF felt like a draw
       Total: +13 vp
       Recommendations:
       - After a second play I recommend moving the scenario forward
one turn: bombers down one altitude band, right 2 spaces each,
       Italian Wings: Mc.255s left 2, G.55s down 2 left 1. It’s still
taking until about turn 3 to get tallies and I think one of
these could be dropped. This isn’t IMPORTANT but could knock a
kind of dead turn off play.
       - The positive side to having the G.55s attack ASAP was that
more of the bombers entered their bombing profiles with cohesion
issues than during last game. If the three squadrons that were
at reduced cohesion while bombing hadn’t been then they would
have scored 10 more points of damage (another 12 vp) probably
more than compensating for any additional bomber kills they
       might have scored later.
       - I think the vp probably need to be adjusted OR the Italians
given a heavier Flak unit. Possibly Heavy Flak B or even C. Hvy
Flak B would have resulted in 3 more stragglers and one
       additional B-24 loss.

One important note about my FIRST play:
I realized today that the target was set up in O 0 instead of
P0. in terms of Flak this didn’t (fortunately) make any
difference. Bombing would have scored 2 points less damage due
to a bomber being disrupted in turn 5. The net effect was none
since the damage level was the same.

Okay, so I'll make the following changes:
       - B-24s down one altitude and two columns right.
       - MC.205s two columns left
       - G.55s one column left, but I'll keep their altitude, as
otherwise they will join with 1 Gruppo to make a large
formation, which I think is undesirable.

Sounds good. Didn’t realize I was unwittingly grouping them all
together which is definitely not desirable.
I’ll play this again next week unless I hear otherwise from you.
