Lee,
Probably not the kind of feedback you expected, but I just
e-mailed you a "post-proofing" feedback file, including the
things that fell through the cracks during your latest edit.
Hope this helps.

I have just updated the Legends book and the OOB player aids.
There are a number of fixes in the books.

The Tip and Run scenario might be another to employ the Ground
Hugging rule for the FW-190s at altitude zero.

I hope everyone’s had a great break. In the coming days I shall
be setting everything up to start testing of Legends in January.
(1) I will set up test threads for each scenario and the
campaign.
(2) I want to discuss how we organise this Alpha test phase.
This will require more coordination than previously, so I need
to organise all active testers into ‘teams’. Each team can be a
solo tester, like Elias, or an ftf/VASSAL group, like Andrew and
Gordon. Once teams are established I can allocate scenarios to
them for Alpha test.
(3) I think we also need to discuss what the Alpha test is and
what we anticipate from each such test. I’ll do that in a
separate thread.

(1) Making Teams
So let's begin talking about the Alpha test phase. Who is in for
the Alpha test? I am presuming that we have at least the
following teams:
* Team: Elias
* Team: Andrew & Gordon
* Team: ?
* Team: ?
* Team: ?
Who else thinks they can help test? I'm hoping that those
experienced hands amongst you, like Chris, Dave, Scott K and
perhaps some others will be able to jump on. Alpha testing is
largely about being experienced enough to spot issues and
suggest fixes.
(2) Define Alpha Test
We covered some of this in a separate thread, but as a first
stab at a definition, the Alpha test involves developing a
scenario to the point where we have adjusted it to make a fun or
interesting play experience. Note that this does not necessarily
mean the scenario is balanced yet. We could have a scenario that
plays great but needs further test to balance the victory
conditions.
So the Alpha test is the first three, four, five or more plays
that get the scenario to a place where we think it is 'good' and
doesn't need much further adjustment to order of battle, set-up,
special rules and so-on. It might still require tweaks for
balancing.
To get to this point I think needs two things:
(a) Changes to the scenario. Alpha plays should be generating
change, unless the scenario is so good that it needs no further
fixes.
(b) Plays by at least two teams. It needs more than one
perspective. If the first team takes it to a point they are
satisfied with after a couple of plays, we pass onto a second
team to play a couple more times, validate those changes and
take it to the end of alpha. I'm hoping that our teams have the
knowledge and experience to identify issues and propose fixes
that allow us to do this in ~5 plays total. Then we can pass the
scenario into beta testing for balance play.
(3) Beta Test
Beta test should come at the point where we think the scenario
is 90% done, and we can use less-experienced guys to pick up the
scenario, validate all the fixes to this point and play to
generate balance data.
Any thoughts on this?

Sounds fine. Pete and I have agreed to playtest PBEM, so
consider us a separate team from me solo.

The latest Legends file was erased accidentally by someone
