Is anyone familiar with this company? They say they provide
qualified pre-set appointments but I am skeptical. Any help
       would be appreciated.

y from what I understand they offer pre scheduled appointments
or something like that, so that theres no cold calling involved
on the part of the consultant. They are on facebook and twitter.

Absolutely a legitimate company. Built on the same model of
Senior Healthcare Consultants and Lexicon Senior Healthcare. Not
another churn and burn agency...they promise pre-set
appointments and big bucks. You're given a quickie three day
overview of Medicare and Medicare supplement insurance, then
you're assigned out on appointments two or three hours from your
house where half of the people are waiting with cookies.
No offense, but all of the above companies love people like you
       - people who are new to the insurance career and who, quite
frankly, will bend over backwards to help you.
Be careful of this, too. These companies use their senior
managers to train relentlessly and convey legitimate
experiences by ex-agents (their top producers). They've even
gone so far as to buy a .biz website, dressing it up as a forum,
just to try to give their consultants the help they need.
They'll try to help you as much as possible. The truth is that
their agents were set up to succeed so that the agency - Buffett
Senior Healthcare, or whatever they'll call themselves next year
when the publicity becomes too much again - can invest your
start-up fee, chargebacks on your advances plus all the
residuals you just busted your ass 18 hours a day back on you.
You're much better off, as most would advise you in this forum,
to pay close attention to what they say and follow their plan
       whole heartedly. Good Luck Mate.

I'll try to give some insight.
Have I worked for this company? No. But I did interview with
them and spoke with some of their agents (and former agents) and
got a good insight into the company. When I looked into working
with this company I was not yet in the insurance world and
didn't know how things worked. I was looking for a company to
       start my career.
They generally prefer hiring people new to the insurance world
(red flag #1). They say that this is because they want to be
able to train you their way. They set you up with a recruiter
and do a phone interview. The interview is not much of an
interview, it is more of the recruiter selling you on the job
and on the position (red flag #2). At the end of the call they
say they like you and they have to talk to their bosses about
you but they are going to 'go to bat for you'. etc, etc.
After you are offered a position you have to go to their HQ in
Texas (you pay your own expenses) and sit through their
training. They charge you a fee to do this, back when I looked
into them it was $600 (red flag #3). Yes, you heard me
correctly, you have to pay them to work for them.
After you get back home you will be assigned a field trainer and
will run appointments with that person. They give you 3 - 5
preset appointments per day, 4 days a week. You have to pay for
these appointments, back then they were somewhere around $20 -
$29 each. Now if you are a newbie then you may think this sounds
like a great deal. However, talk to any insurance agent who has
ever worked with preset appointments and they'll generally all
agree about one thing.... They are junk. Preset appointments are
made by people in call centers who have one job, to set an
appointment. It doesn't matter what the quality of the
appointment is, they just have to set it... that is their job.
In my experience over half of all preset appointments are not
even there when you go to the door. And of the half that is
home, most of them either aren't healthy enough to qualify for
insurance, or they will look you straight in the eye and tell
you they don't know who you are or what you want, they didn't
have an appointment, and they won't let you in.
Regardless of the outcome of the appointment, you have to pay
the company their fee for setting it up. If the client wasn't
there, wouldn't let you in, said they didn't have an
appointment, whatever.... you have to pay for it.
Back when I looked into them they were focusing heavily on
Medicare Advantage with Universal American (Today's Options).
Back in those days the season for Medicare Advantage was six
months long, as opposed to 10 weeks now. Also, Today's Options
are not really very competitive in my area, so we would have to
sell a sub-par product. Also, you are not fully vested for (I
think it was) 5 years. The person who I corresponded with that
worked for that company said he didn't know anyone who worked
there for more than 1 year. Therefore, no one was vested.
And the biggest red flag of all..... They used to be called
Senior Healthcare Consultants. Then they changed their name to
Apex-Elite. Then they changed their name to Lexicon Senior Care.
Now they are known as Buffett Senior Healthcare. Why do they
keep changing their name? Simple... Google any of those names
and see what you come up with. Hundreds and hundreds of posts on
the internet calling them bad names.
If you choose to go with them I wish you all the best. I really
hope you succeed and prove us all wrong. Please keep us updated
on your progress. However, if you decide that you do want to
enter this market there are many other ways to do it with more
reputable companies. I'd be happy to give you some referrals if
       you'd like.
       All the best.

Whatever you do, stay away from Buffett Senior Healthcare. My
wife & I are both nurses & have both gotten persistent offers in
the last few days from them. We've researched BSH thoroughly &
have found them to be a royal scam! Read the above post
explaining them more thoroughly. But ALWAYS beware of a company
who's website never states, anywhere on it, what exactly their
business does, nor does it contain any contact info. And
especially avoid ANY company that charges YOU for training. If
they're legit, they'll pay you while you train. Unfortunately,
many entries on threads about them (& their previous names) are
stacked by people from their organization to try to paint a rosy
picture of a stack of manure. They certainly know how to
manipulative the internet as well as people. Don't let them fool
you...you are the sale. I've heard for years that the easiest
people to sell to are salespeople. Luckily, we're not in sales &
tend to look at most everything with a skeptical eye.
If I had to choose (& I deliberately choose neither, though both
have offered...it is good to be an RN & have other options), I'd
most definitely go with AFLAC as they are a known, legitimate
       company. Good Luck

This is the latest iteration of Richard P. Dale Jr's RJR
Insurance Services scams. For those keeping score, he's gone
from National Group Underwriters to Senior Healthcare
Consultants (2009) to Apex-Elite (2010) to Lexicon Senior
Healthcare (2011) to Buffett Senior Healthcare (2012). The quick
name changes are, to say the least, contrary to their assertion
that they are a legitimate, growing company...it appears to me
that RJR is trying desperately to stay one step ahead of the
law. Lexicon Senior Healthcare and his previous efforts were
under active investigation by the Texas Department of Insurance
       as of late last year.
The lineage of Buffett Senior Healthcare is provable. One of the
glowing testimonials on the new site (their site/jgv) is from
Glenn J. Virga, who occupied the same position all the way back
from at least Senior Healthcare Consultants. He has been a
senior manager for Mr. Dale for years. He and several other Dale
cronies profit handsomely from the churn and burn model Mr. Dale
       uses.
In short, this is not a legitimate company, no matter what their
BBB rating says (BBB ratings mean absolutely nothing, by the way
       - they merely attest that a company is paying attention to its
complaints, not resolving them). Richard P. Dale Jr has a
seriously flawed record as an agent.
       Texas:
Dale, Richard Page, Jr. of Fort Worth
       Order Number: 040796
       Date of Order: 8/16/2004
       Order Final In: August
Action Taken: $42,000 fine; 3 year probated suspension of
General Life, Accident and Health License
Violation: Materially misrepresented terms and conditions of an
insurance policy; Twisted and used high pressure tactics in
marketing Medicare Supplement Coverage to senior citizen
       consumers
       New Jersey:
Richard P. Dale, Jr., Dallas, TX
Order #E11-52, July 18, 2011; Respondent failed to disclose
within 30 days of actions taken against him by the Texas and
Kentucky Departments of Insurance and incorrectly indicating on
his license renewal application that he had not been involved in
any administrative proceeding regarding a professional or
       occupational license
Do you really want to lose your dollars in this man's wallet?

This company is very similar and I believe to be by the same
owners of Lexicon and what used to be Senior Healthcare
Consultants. I worked for SHC for a few months. RUN AWAY! Read
the other posts here about that company and on other insurance
forums. I also believe that this is similar to Association
Member Benefits Advisors- please the the Glassdoor for comments
on that company. The tactics used by SHC were very similar to
what people say about AMBA. Proceed with caution.
