       Very simple.
       3sinx - sinx =1
       2sinx = 1
       Sinx = 1/2
       So x = pi/6 , 5pi/6

       do u always change an angle that is bigger than PI but smaller
       than 2PI to negative angle instead of just break it into two
       angles when using compounding angles?

       No. It depends on what the question is and what ratio is.
