Re: Searching for a start [night, open]

Her second hand finding its way to the spot at the back of her
neck, Mitsuki's mind continued to race. "What do they mean to
me. Are the ties between us really there, do they mean
anything. Should I have to feel responsible for everyone else."
The dark thoughts that swirled in her mind were practically
screaming at her. Freedom, answers, strength....was it worth
turning her back on the people she called friends, those who
constantly pulled her from her studies, and called her when they
needed help. But still....she wasn't sure. She looked at Aku
again, "I....normally am not hesitant.....I used to be sure of
myself...."

"Exactly as I mean, they do nothing but drag you further down."
he said and crossed his arms. "Perhaps I shall leave you a few
days to consider it. After all I have plenty of other things to
get done."

"They drag me down......will I be able to get up again...." she
mumbled softly nodding weakly. Who was this person she was
becoming, so unsure of herself, so much....less of a person
almost. She looked up at Aku. "The offer will still be open?
Freedom, stability, answers.....I just need to be sure...."
There was definitely a part of her mind that was screaming at
her to just say yes to the young demon.

"Yes, my offer will still be open. I would never revoke
something I can see you desperately need." he smiled and turned
away to leave.

Mitsuki stood and bowed to him as he turned to leave. Biting
her lip there was a part of her that cried out at the thought of
not saying yes to his offer right this minute. "I....I am sure
I will be speaking to you again soon."

"Of that I am certain." he said and vanished in a swirl of
leaves.

As the boy disappeared Mitsuki collapsed back down into a seated
position. Curling up and resting her head on her knees she
sighed. She felt small, she felt weak, she felt.....not herself
anymore. What had happened to her....she used to hold to her
convictions with such strength and determination, and now....it
was like she was walking through concrete, watching her life go
by. What did her ties to the others mean...did they really mean
nothing. If she stood by them...would she continue to be
dragged down. All she was there for was to heal them, she could
do nothing for herself... After a long period of silence
Mitsuki finally stood and made her way home in the dark and
silence.
