Nicolina stopped at the edge of the field. "Can I really
consider this?" she questioned softly, taking out the small
stone Aku had given here to summon him with. "Yes of course I
can, what I desire does not matter after all. My role is a
Guardian, I am destined to protect the Keys I will do what I
must." she thought and shattered the stone against a tree.

"So you have made a choice then?" Aku asked, his feet touching
down as the leaves around him scattered. "Have you chosen to
join me Nicolina?" he held out his hand with a grin. "Or perhaps
you desire my assistance again." he looked at her with
amusement.

"Again?" she mumbled, eyes widening she took out the white
dagger. "So it was you who threw this at me then. You helped
me..." she let them fall out her hand. "I need your help. Roka
has been kidnapped by demons. Surely you know where they are."

He smirked and stepped towards her. "Yes I helped, I didn't want
to see you hurt your friend." he said, head tilted. "I even know
where your other friend is. I can tell you but what will you
give me in return. Will you sacrifice yourself, your friends,
family? No you wouldn't do that not even to save him...but that'
okay I won't ask you for those things. I only want one thing
from you Selene." he said, beside him black leaves swirled and a
man appeared bound and gagged.
"I want you to kill this mortal. It should be too hard after all
you've already killed numerous times before. You do wish to save
your friend don't you?" he asked.

She looked at him in surprise then at the man. She wanted to
refuse, but the mention of saving Roka made her pause. She
transformed and stepped forward reluctantly. He's right, it
shouldn't be hard...I've already killed. After all to find
Roka...this must be done. she unsheathed her sword and walked
over to the man. "Fine, I will kill him, then you will tell me
what I want to know." she said coldly.
She placed the tip of her sword over the mans heart, she ignored
his cries and mutterings. "The protection of the keys is all
that matters. This is the only path I may walk in the end.
Nothing will change that."

He stepped aside and watched her. A soft chuckle escaped him at
her words the mans pitiful whining. Yes one must not force the
will. It must naturally change with only gentle prodding he
thought.

"May the light I extinguish be reborn brightly." she muttered,
hands tightening around the hilt she pulled back and plunged the
sword through the mans heart. Detached she watched as he died,
drawing the sword out she dropped it and fell to her knees. Is
this path shrouded in darkness, stained in blood...?

Aku walked over and wrapped his arms around her. "Look what this
cruel fate has turned you into. A cruel monster who kills." he
said gently and gestured at the pool Tragedy awaits you. Nothing
but sorrow and pain. Join me and I will make you stronger,
follow me and you will have nothing more to fear. I will be the
light that guides you." he pulled away and watched her. Slowly I
will blacken your heart, I will lead you into darkness lit by
darkness. Then that prince will understand just how beneath me
he is and those Guardians will understand who the real threat
is.

She tried to ignore his words, but steadily they reached her
just as the blood began to soak the bottom of her dress. She
hugged herself and returned to Nicolina. "Never, I shall never
join you. Tell me where he is demon!" she bit out and dug her
nails into her arms. This is all to save Roka, to do my duty.
All I do is what must be done, nothing else matters.

He watched her with a smile, a black envelope fluttered down and
landed in her lap. The address and another stone. He turned away
"How long will you let them use you Nicolina, you alone are the
darkness while they frolic in the light, you suffer alone. Your
love will not be returned once your most precious person
discovers just how blood soaked your hands truly are." and with
that he vanished along with the body.
