The sun could give out. I could fly a large quantity of high Z
very cold material to set the fusion process in the sun to come
to a screeching halt. Sooo yes it can be stopped!

rule the world instead. Basically Haruko will be under Selene's

actually the moon wouldnt be seen because there would be no
sunlight reflecting off of it. new moons everyday
