reliving the unremembered [nero, night, open]

nero sat atop one of the high skyscrapers in the downtown area.
he did not look himself. his skin was pale and he had dark bags
under his eyes as if he hasn't been sleeping. one leg hangs over
the edge of the roof while he hugs the other to his chest. his
usually bright and happy eyes were irritated red and carried a
heavy sadness. the same memories played over and over in his
head. him as a small child no older than five or six, people
walking by him. there eyes looking him over with
disgust......those eyes. the memory of no one giving a damn even
though he was on the verge of death. nero gripped his leg
tighter and gritted his teeth. a tear rolled down is cheek. more
memories played on. the memory of a shop owner sicking his dog
on him for sleeping behind his dumpsters, a night that was
almost neros last if he hadn't grabbed that glass bottle. the
memories of so much hate and disgust, sorrow and despair. nero
buried his head into his knee and all but the city below fell
silent

"Something wrong, Nero?" It was obvious the voice belong to
logan, but the body didnt belong to logan. Shinji stood behind
Nero, well at least the body was. He with the mask that he had
on Nero knew logan had his eyebrow raised.

nero stayed quiet for a while before answering "why am
i....detested?" he kept his head down as he spoke

nero snapped quietly "if it wasnt for that i wouldnt be given a
second glance"

nero didnt answer he just looked out onto the city lights "and
how can you be so sure of that?"

nero snickered and looked at him "i would believe you if it
wasnt for the fact that even the street rats had the same look
in there eyes" nero turned back to the view of the city and
sighed "but who am i to judge ones present by a past that they
do not know of"
